Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the upcoming school year at a K-12 educational setting in Chapel Hill, NC. This contract role involves working with a small student group, applying adaptive curriculum strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students unique needs.
- Utilize adaptive curriculum methods to support cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure cohesive learning experiences.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional techniques accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with relevant legal and educational standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure in Special Education.
- Experience teaching students in grades K-12, particularly in small group settings.
- Strong knowledge of adaptive curriculum design and individualized instruction.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage diverse learning challenges with patience and creativity.
Work Schedule and Environment:
- Full-time position, Monday through Friday.
- Work with a student group of 6-8 learners.
- Position duration aligns with the school year calendar.
