Job Title: Vessel Construction Manager
Location: Cleveland, OH (Will offer relocation compensation)
Pay: $85k-$100k
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Vessel Construction Manager to oversee the successful fulfillment of all new construction contracts. You will ensure the safe and effective completion of projects on time, within budget, and with high quality. As a Vessel Construction Manager, you will establish new construction processes and determine the best methods to achieve cost-effective results without compromising quality.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of 20 personnel in the new construction industry.
- Identify and resolve potential problems during projects.
- Mitigate and manage risks found during new construction projects.
- Monitor and oversee progress to ensure compliance with specifications and client requirements.
- Ensure all details of the construction program, including welding, machinery installation, electrical, auxiliary systems, outfitting, commissioning, sea trials, and delivery, are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Handle multiple and varied fabrication, production, and engineering-related assignments.
- Oversee all new construction projects, including personnel management, budget control, scheduling, purchasing, and vendor tracking.
- Travel may be required occasionally, estimated at less than 20%.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in estimation, construction management, budgeting, scheduling, troubleshooting, supervision, shipbuilding, and repair.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office software.
- Working knowledge of ABS Rules and experience working with ABS, Lloyds, DNV, BV, and others.
- Minimum of 3 years in the Ship Building/Repair Industry with at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in shipyard/steel construction.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities.
- Utilization of the company's job cost and purchasing software system (training provided if needed).

Work Environment
The role primarily involves working inside and outside in a shipyard. The position is primarily shoreside and based in Cleveland, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/hr.
