Job Description
SkillSetGroup is seeking an experienced Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to work in Los Angeles' South Bay area. This position will be reposible for complex CNC machining NPI development and process implementation. The chosen candidate must have a strong background in CNC millling & mill-turn process engineering. Knowledge of process engineering, developing CNC production workflows is also a must. This will be a 1st shift position and a DIRECT HIRE Opportunity.
Job Title: Process Engineer/Manufacturing Manager
Hours: 1st shift (7:00am start) working 10 hour days (Friday is OT/ mandatory during busy times)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily CNC operations (3, 4, 5-axis milling & mill-turn)
- Manage machinists, operators, and production staff
- Drive production scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation
- Ensure safety compliance (OSHA) and promote a safety-first culture
- Maintain quality standards (GD&T, AS9100/ISO) and reduce scrap/rework
- Monitor WIP, capacity, and delivery timelines
- Improve cycle times, tooling efficiency, and overall costs
- Review prints/CAD models and develop machining processes
- Support quoting (RFQs), NPI, and first article inspections
- Implement Lean / Six Sigma improvements and process optimization
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of CNC machining + leadership experience
- Strong background in multi-axis machining and process engineering
- Experience with GD&T, tooling, and fixturing
- CAM software experience (Mastercam, NX, CATIA, etc.)
- Proven ability to lead teams and improve shop performance
