Position: Radiation Therapist
Term: Contract
Location: Merriam, Kansas (KS)
Compensation:
- Hourly Pay: $65–$70
- Non-taxable Stipend (per week): $1,500
- Total Gross for 40 Hours: Varies based on hourly rate
Overview:
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for the safe and accurate delivery of proton therapy treatments and CT simulations. This position requires a commitment to clinical quality, patient-centered care, and effective teamwork within a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities:
- Administer proton radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist
- Provide compassionate, high-quality patient care in accordance with departmental procedures
- Explain treatment procedures to patients and families; refer medical questions appropriately
- Review patient history and ensure accurate documentation and chart checks
- Enter and verify treatment data in the oncology record system
- Schedule treatments and educate patients to ensure understanding of procedures
- Perform CT simulations and maintain MRI zone safety awareness
- Acquire and assess digital portal images for accuracy and technical quality
- Construct and use immobilization devices as needed
- Perform basic dosimetry tasks during simulation as directed
- Support departmental quality control and safety efforts
- Communicate timely and effectively with supervisory staff
- Maintain professional working relationships with patients, colleagues, and providers
- Complete required radiation and MRI safety training
- Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:
- Experience in conventional (photon) or proton radiation therapy
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
- Current R.T.(T)(ARRT) certification
- Kansas state radiation therapy license
- Experience with Varian TrueBeam required
