We’re looking for an elevator modernization Superintendent to join our client’s growing team in West Palm Beach. In this role, you’ll be managing the timely and accurate modernization of obsolete elevators while supporting field teams and driving customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do:
You’ll oversee day-to-day modernization operations, supporting field personnel, improving quality, and ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.
- Support & Coach Field Teams: Conduct job site visits, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide on-the-job training and support to field mechanics. Foster a culture of safety and quality.
- Ensure Profitability: Use accounting reports to review job status and identify opportunities. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize performance. Plan and prioritize manpower for increased efficiency.
- Lead with Safety: Support and participate in safety training programs to uphold high safety standards across all job sites.
- Build Relationships: Develop and strengthen relationships with customers through open communication and timely response to issues.
- Collaborate with Sales: Partner with sales teams by providing technical input on scopes and material needs for proposals.
- Provide Quality Oversight: Perform timely quality checks on newly completed modernization work to ensure reliability, identify potential issues, and share insights to improve future projects.
- Procure Materials: Determine and order the necessary parts and materials for job completion.
- Stay Current: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of elevator codes, company product offerings, and industry developments. Engage with regional field trainers and attend training sessions as needed.
- Solve Problems & Adapt: Perform additional duties as needed to support operations and ensure customer satisfaction.
What You Bring to the Team:
- 2+ years of management experience in a field service or construction environment, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on leadership experience
- Military background preferred
- Strong knowledge of the construction and/or elevator industries
- Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and diagrams
- Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to both teams and management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Confidence working independently and making decisions in fast-paced environments
