<li>Performs various tasks involving building maintenance projects; cleans buildings, sheds, restrooms, or other facilities; paints interior/exterior surfaces and equipment; performs light masonry work; replaces batteries, light bulbs, and ballasts; repairs/replaces building fixtures or door locks; assembles furniture or equipment; pressure-washes building surfaces; lifts/moves equipment and heavy materials.</li>
<li>Operates a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools associated with department projects, which may include a backhoe, trackhoe, forklift, tractor, mower, edger, weed eater, chipper, chain saw, drill press, air compressor, leaf blower, tiller, sod cutter, asphalt loop, paint/marking machine, pick axe, sledgehammer, pitchfork, rake, post hole digger, shovel, broom, hand tools, or two-way radio.</li>
<li>Performs general cleaning/maintenance tasks necessary to keep equipment and tools in operable condition, which may include inspecting equipment, checking/replacing fluids, refueling vehicles, performing minor equipment repairs, greasing equipment, sharpening blades, changing tires, replacing parts, washing/cleaning equipment, or cleaning shop or work areas; monitors equipment operations to maintain efficiency and safety; reports faulty equipment.</li>
<li>Gathers equipment, tools, supplies, and materials needed to conduct work activities; initiates requests for new or replacement materials as required.</li>
<li>Follows established safety procedures, utilizes safety equipment, and monitors work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals; assists truck drivers, equipment operators, or other workers in monitoring traffic conditions surrounding trucks/equipment to identify obstructions, pedestrians, or unsafe traffic conditions; reports any incidents, accidents, problems, or unusual situations.</li>
<li>Prepares or completes various forms, reports, correspondence, time cards, daily work sheets, or other documents.</li>
<li>Receives various forms, reports, correspondence, schedules, activity calendars, event sheets, diagrams, blueprints, policies, procedures, regulations, manuals, reference materials, or other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards, or retains as appropriate.</li>
<li>Communicates with supervisor, other departments, employees, inmate workers, community service workers, the public, outside agencies, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.</li>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Qualifications: 
Operation of motor vehicles requires possession and maintenance of a valid Georgia driver’s license. Operation of forklift requires possession and maintenance of valid Forklift Operator certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

GENERAL PURPOSE
Working under the supervision of the Spanish Fork City Parks and Recreation Lead Worker the Landscape Maintenance Worker performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance duties in a park setting or similar facilities; and performs related work as required.

Daily maintenance of city parks and grounds including turf grass care, flower and shrub planter care, tree care, grounds maintenance and cleaning/trash pick up, facilities and restroom cleaning. Repair, maintain and prepare athletic fields for play. Makes minor alterations to irrigation systems; installs and/or repairs broken irrigation lines; repairs sprinkler heads; assists in installation of sprinkler systems. SF Recreation &amp; Park Summer Day Camps 2024
Typically, Recreation Leaders assist or lead Day Camps program throughout the day in various activities ranging from hiking, storytelling, traditional skits and songs, art activities and field games. We are seeking individuals who have experience in leading games, songs, and other cultural fun activities. Each Recreation Leader will mentor camp counselors and 1 to 2 youth assistants aged 14+.
NOTE – if you are hired, you will be required to attend the New Recreation Employee Orientation which covers Department procedures and policies as well as a Unit Orientation before starting work.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The three levels are summarized below:
Under supervision of Recreation and Park Operations staff, 
Recreation Leader  I   performs program support work, light office tasks, customer service duties, set up and take down of tables and chairs and occasional janitorial tasks; and performs related duties as required.
Recreation Leader  II is responsible for delivery of recreation programs and activities. May also be responsible for the set up and take down of tables and chairs and occasional janitorial tasks; and performs related duties as required.
Recreation Leader III Certified Program Provider is responsible for the delivery of all Certified recreation, leisure and sport programs and activities in which the Recreation and Parks Department require the employee to be certified. May also be responsible for the set up and take down of tables and chairs and occasional janitorial tasks; and performs related duties as required
Distinguishing Feature: The Recreation Leader I performs program assistance and facility monitoring, while Leaders II and III are responsible for direct instruction of recreation programs and activities. Recreation Leader III provides program instruction at a certified level of skill/expertise as deemed necessary by the Department.
