Essential Function
Buyer is responsible for procurement of indirect goods not for sale and commodities essential for corporate, retail sales and operations. Monitor, analyze, and evaluate consumption trends, shipping history, sales records, and quality of goods to determine operational impact, financial exposure, cost benefits, best value, yield, and cost of ownership.&nbsp; Buyer owns end to end inventory position including forecasting, purchasing, allocation, SKU maintenance, cost negotiations and product life cycle.&nbsp; Partners with cross functional teams to ensure all business needs are met including administering RFI, RFP &amp; RFQs.
Primary Duties
30%&nbsp;Evaluate and select, orders, purchase merchandise consistent with contract costs, value and quality, quantity, and specification requirements of the business. Negotiate costs, early pay discounts, payment terms, and transportation arrangements for commodities, goods and services. Ensures that items are ordered, received and available to customers in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Plan and forecast inventory requirements for multiple DC’s to anticipate needs and mitigate out of stocks.
25%&nbsp;Analyzes and monitors purchasing history, non-compliant buying patterns, vendor spend, trends and macro-economic environment to anticipate buying patterns and determine what the company will sell and consume and how much inventory is needed to support utilization from retail operations and sales activities.
25%&nbsp;Support Procurement Category Manager in conducting RFI/RFQ/RFP’s and identify opportunities to bid on services, materials, or commodity requirements. Reviews and evaluates spend and proactively seek potential new suppliers or vendor consolidation opportunities to encourage competition that results in best value and cost opportunities for the business.
15%&nbsp;Participates in special projects and spot buys that require subject matter expertise for new store concept projects, including specialized product knowledge including trends, vendor sourcing, inventory management, spend analytics, and vendor agreements.&nbsp;
5%&nbsp;Assist the Procurement Category Manager or Director with assigned category strategy support with applicable data and vendor spend.&nbsp;
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience</li>
<li>3+ years commodity purchasing and sourcing experience in related field. Indirect goods not for sale and services preferred.</li>
<li>Proven track record of maintaining high service levels across multiple Distribution enters.</li>
<li>Organized with excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Broad knowledge of retail displays, furniture, fixtures, and equipment, along with related commodities is strongly preferred. &nbsp;</li>

Indirect Procurement Analyst (Buyer)

Overview
Essential Function Responsible for replenishment of planogram merchandise the replenishment process and quantity allocation from forecast to PO for assigned businesses. The Replenishment Planner analyzes and adjusts system forecasts based on daily review of product movement including seasonality, industry and market trends, and probability of anticipated sales. Responsible for delivering forecast accuracy and forecasting bias as per defined goals by SKU and/or product family. Partner with Buyer to manage category distortions and Open to Buy - and allocate inventory dollars effectively to drive the business. Drive consistency in sku FC and replenishment that align with AOR goals. Manage the preplanning process and asset allocation to identify and drive grow / maintain / decline businesses. &nbsp;This position is a hybrid role, reporting into the corporate office in Denton TX on Tuesdays and Weds of each week and working remotely the rest of the work week.

Primary Duties

<li>50% Forecasting: Create and manage replenishment forecasts through PO creation using JDA systems and tools. Recognize and reconcile forecast exceptions. Track actuals against forecast. Manage new and conversion store forecasts. Follow up on POs from Vendor through DC and to store to ensure proper flow. Align item plans with financial targets for AOR and drive to OTB metrics.</li>
<li>25% Partnerships: Work with Buyer/SBU on strategies to drive the business. Work strategically with suppliers, supply chain, and store partners to translate vendor commitments, supply chain capacity, stores stock levels, and marketing into plans that achieve the sales, GM and unit turnover expectation.</li>
<li>25% Drive the JDA process Analytics/Reports to enhance JDA effectiveness: Generate and analyze forecast performance reports. Determine causal factors impacting forecasts and act: weather, moving seasons, etc. Manage new, increased footprint, decreased footprint, and end of life forecasts. Maintain key metrics against goals for forecast accuracy and inventory optimization.</li>

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

<li>College degree (BA or BS) or equivalent work experience</li>
<li>3-5 years experience with planning at a retail or wholesale company merchandise planning and allocation, demand planning, production planning.</li>
<li>2-3 years planning and executing projects involving multiple groups across an organization.</li>
<li>Experience with retail buying or logistics preferred.</li>
<li>Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.</li>
<li>Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.</li>
<li>JDA experience would be a plus.</li>
<li>Capability to multitask in a fast paced environment.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills that helps influence and shape future business decisions.</li>
