As a Home Health Registered Nurse, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
<ul>
<li>Provide home-based care to patients with illnesses, injuries and chronic diseases—often after discharge from a hospital, rehab or nursing facility</li>
<li>Work with a team of physicians and oversee LPNs, CNAs and aides providing patient care </li>
<li>Examine patients, do assessments, document progress and report changes to their physician</li>
<li>Educate patients on their plan of care, prescribed medication, therapy, diet and exercise</li>
<li>Coach family members on the patient’s plan of care, medication and home safety  </li>
<li>Ensure goals are met and coordinate discharge from services</li>
</ul>
A few must-haves for Home Health Registered Nurses:
<ul>
<li>Graduate of an accredited nursing program and active RN license in FL</li>
<li>Minimum of 1 years of nursing experience, ideally in home healthcare</li>
<li>CPR certification</li>
<li>Knowledge of state and federal home health regulations</li>
<li>Clinical proficiency in nursing specialty, strong communication skills and compassion</li>

<li>Examine patients, conduct assessments, document condition and report changes to physician</li>
<li>Review, interpret, transcribe and carry out physician orders for patients</li>
<li>Administer medication, operate medical equipment and maintain a safe environment  </li>
</ul>
