Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital is recruiting a fellowship-trained BC/BE pediatric ophthalmologist who has excellent clinical and surgical skills and is committed to exceptional patient care. The successful candidate should have experience in all aspects of pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus care and will work alongside our exceptional team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, orthoptists, ophthalmic technicians, and opticians. Responsibilities: 
Provide outpatient medical and surgical ophthalmic care to pediatric and adult strabismus patients
Provide pediatric inpatient ophthalmic consultation as well as services for retinopathy of prematurity on a rotation basis with colleagues
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals on a multidisciplinary level as needed for best outcomes
Interact with rotating ophthalmology residents, pediatric residents and medical students
Academic appointment through Michigan State University with research opportunities
Must be fellowship trained in Pediatric Ophthalmology
Essential Functions
Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others
Maintain records and documentation as necessary
Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and always ensures coverage of case load.
Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
Communicates with other members of the health care team to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient / family advocate.

A Patient Services Representative II will be responsible for checking patients in and out for their ophthalmic/optometric visits, verifying and collecting insurance authorizations, scheduling appointments and in and out bound phone calls as well as computer input. They will also assist in leading the PSR and office team in required business process and hospitality. 
Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Welcomes and greets all visitors by providing gracious, thorough, and efficient care and meeting all needs via face-to-face communication, phone, email or fax. </li>
<li>Assist in leading the PSR and office team in both appropriate process and gracious hospitality. </li>
<li>Follow all practice procedures for complete and accurate check in/check out and for the flow of patients through other practice departments. </li>
<li>Utilize multiple methods of data collection and input including paper, electronic, kiosk, and web-based applications. </li>
<li>Input and update patient data involving medical, demographic and insurance information with accuracy. </li>
<li>Calculate and collect patient copayments, deductibles, and due balances with accuracy. </li>
<li>Schedule return appointments and set up reminder notifications. </li>
<li>Verify insurance eligibility and confirm active and participating coverage. </li>
<li>Identify, research, and resolve all customer requests. </li>
<li>Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized. </li>
<li>Assist with maintaining proper inventory levels of retail items. </li>
<li>Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette. </li>

Qualifications:

<li>Minimum of a high school diploma with associates degree preferred. </li>
<li>Must hold a CPSS or have 4 plus years of verifiable consistent medical front desk experience with at least two of those years in a lead or supervisory role. </li>
<li>Must have the ability to establish confidence and trust with patients. </li>
<li>Must have the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure or stress. </li>
<li>Have the ability to provide excellent customer service, communication, telephone and grammar skills. </li>
<li>Must have an empathetic and compassionate manner. </li>
<li>Prefer one or more years experience working in a medical position where patient contact was required. </li>
<li>Knowledge of insurance plans is helpful. </li>
<li>Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Office required. </li>

Medical Office Supervisor - Ophthalmology Practice

The Senior IT Auditor will conduct various IT and operational audits and support the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) compliance initiatives including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), SSAE16, HIPAA, HITRUST. 
Essential Functions: 
Assist in the preparation of audit planning documentation for all assigned IT and Integrated audits. 
Execute a wide variety of audit procedures, perform detail analysis and interpret results against defined objectives. 
Document relevant facts and information to support the work performed and conclusions drawn so other reviewers can follow the auditor’s logic and methodology. 
Demonstrate an understanding of information system and internal control concepts and IT risks; appropriately assess the deficiencies, gaps or other issues identified using the knowledge and formulate recommendations that are appropriate, practical and cost-effective. Effectively communicate audit results and recommendations to lead auditor for evaluation and discussion with business partners. 
Complete work with limited instruction within time budgets, demonstrating effective time management skills and the ability to work independently. 
Demonstrate teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members. 
Work with business partners to present and validate potential issues; facilitate the development of appropriate remediation plans/timelines in conjunction with business partners. 
Stay abreast of the current IT environment and industry IT trends relevant to the company’s IT activities, and use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services. 
Provide or assist in providing training, coaching, and guidance to internal audit staff in conducting audits and other audit-related issues.

Qualifications: 
Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, finance, accounting or related discipline. 
3-7 years of audit, accounting or related experience. 
SOX / HIPAA / HITRUST / SSAE16 audit / controls familiarity. 
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish credibility with business partners. 
Ability to work with different management levels within the organization.
