Job Description
McLaughlin Research Corporation (MRC) is seeking a Mathematician who will support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport RI. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) is the United States Navy's full-spectrum research, development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support center for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive weapons systems associated with undersea warfare.
Responsibilites:
Mathematicians work alongside data scientists using factor and correlation analysis to observe linear relationships between hundreds of numerical variables and explaining variance in operational software (OPSW) that guides systems engineers in improving their algorithms. With this analysis, our engineers are able to continuously patch bugs in the OPSW and sprint test using an in-house simulation. Analysts will setup, run and analyze scenarios to match against test criteria outlined by project stakeholders. Analysts gain extensive experience in MATLAB which is used to analyze thousands of data points over the course of a single run.
Analysts gain an understanding of computational programming in MATLAB, use probability distributions to gauge mission effectiveness, contribute to the management of multiple databases that hold important historical study data, and learn a strong background in data visualization which is used to report their analysis to the fleet.
Requirements:

<li>Must be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance</li>
