Overview
The objective of the course is to provide area knowledge to prepare foreign affairs professionals to carry out their responsibilities working in or on Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The purpose of the course is to provide participants with an understanding of the forces that have shaped modern Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, and United Kingdom and continue to influence the course of each country’s development domestically and internationally, especially those issues that most affect relations with the United States. It reviews historical and cultural factors that have given rise to each country’s recent political and economic structure and explores the major social, economic, and political issues facing the nations today. It also provides an overview of each country’s government and economy as well as the present policies of the United States on the key issues in U.S.-bilateral relations. The seminar combines short lectures, class discussions, field trips, documentaries, and participatory activities, and is supported by readings.
Duties
The course runs as a 5-day consecutive in-person class. McCO has an immediate need for an instructor to conduct the in-person June 10—June 14, 2024 and August 26—August 30, 2024 iterations of the course in Arlington, Virginia, although we are also accepting applications for subsequent deliveries. Please note your availability in your application form.
The successful candidate must be available to manage the course for the duration of the scheduled class time, however it is not necessary for the instructor to commit to every course delivery. Candidates will be considered who have availability intermittently through the year. The selected instructor may be called upon to deliver courses remotely or in person at FSI.
The responsibilities of the Course Coordinator include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following duties:

<li>Manage, organize, and conduct the course.</li>
<li>Ensure course delivery adheres to Area Studies instructional design and delivery pillars and is responsive to technical guidance from the Area Studies Chair and Leadership.</li>

<li>Deliver the course using a variety of dynamic facilitation and instruction techniques that will ensure effective learning in an online classroom environment, such as presentations, facilitated class discussions, group exercises, and self-study and reading materials and other teaching methodologies, as appropriate.</li>
<li>Identify qualified guest speakers from the government, academic, diplomatic and business fields, as appropriate, for approval by the Chair. Manage and invite guest speakers to whom an honorarium may be paid.</li>
<li>Ensure that course materials, including power point presentations, are well maintained with up-to-date information prior to each course delivery.</li>
<li>Meet with the Area Studies Chair as required – typically twice per delivery – once for planning and once to undertake an after-action review of the most recent courses and discuss course planning and revisions. This meeting may take place in person at FSI or remotely, according to the needs of the Chair.</li>
<li>Coordinate with the Area Studies support staff to ensure that the online classroom has been set up and adequately programmed/resourced.</li>
<li>Ensure that the course evaluations are electronically distributed by the Program Assistant and encourage students to complete the evaluations.</li>

Requirements

<li>Evidence of substantive expertise and recognition as an expert on the country or region, as evidenced by published works, media appearances, past teaching or professional training experience, university instruction, or similar.</li>

The Chief Student Affairs Officer and Dean of Students reports to the Office of the Provost and ensures that a comprehensive support network of student affairs programs and services are in place to meet the needs of residential, commuter, undergraduate and graduate students at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri. Lincoln University is a historically Black 1890 Land-Grant University, located in Jefferson City, MO. This position has administrative oversight of the following departments: the Offices of Student Conduct, Student Engagement, Leadership Development, Student Governance, (Student Government Association, Student Organization, and the Campus Activity Board), Greek Life, and Student Health and Counseling Services.

Sanford is currently seeking a full time Autopsy Assistant to perform complete post-mortem examinations as per SF VAHCS guidelines and standard operating procedures to include external examination including removal and dissection of visceral organs, brain, spinal cord, tissue samples and body fluid for further evaluations and to demonstrate the presence or absence of disease. To support the San Francisco VA Health Care System.
Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Perform complete post-mortem examinations as per SF VAHCS guidelines and Standard operating procedures to include external examination including removal and dissection of visceral organs, brain, and spinal cord in order to demonstrate the presence or absence of disease and/or anatomic variation.</li>
<li>Collects appropriate post-mortem tissue samples and body fluids for further evaluations. Correlates the gross pathology with the patient's clinical presentation, presents the findings to the pathologist, produces comprehensive written descriptions of the gross external and internal findings, selects, and collects appropriate sections for microscopic examination and archives. The incumbent assures all necessary documentation, including proper autopsy authorization, is present. Prepares the autopsy suite including selection of appropriate instruments, devices, containers, solution, and other equipment. Responsible for maintenance of a clean area, including instruments, equipment, clothing and proper asepsis for performing autopsies. Carries out a full variety of technical autopsy procedures such as primary incisions, removal of breastbone, skullcap, brain, and brain and other organs as directed. The incumbent weighs and places the organs in the appropriate solutions or containers. Closes the body, replacing organs.</li>
<li>Weigh specimens according to standard protocol and/or as requested, record weights and place specimens in fixative in properly labeled containers for future use. Transport tissues to cutting area for blocking by residents. Use aseptic techniques to obtain cultures from organs as needed and takes to the lab for analysis.</li>
<li>Close and clean the body neatly and sees that it is ready to be released in good condition and with no visible disfigurement that would prevent an open-casket funeral.</li>
<li>Prepares the body for pickup by a funeral home, orders special studies. Lay out proper tools for prescribed autopsy procedure, prepare and position the body.</li>
<li>Checks the identity of the body and confirms the limitations to the autopsy, if any.</li>
<li>Clean and decontaminate the morgue and the laboratory area, sharpening and cleaning of instruments, and replenishment of supplies. Must have a thorough understanding of chemical safety and biosafety principles and procedures.</li>
<li>Discard/dispose all specimens, dispose of hazardous wastes in the prescribed manner, and pack specimens and other material for shipment to outside laboratories.</li>

Position Summary

USMCA
On January 29, 2020, the President enacted the legislation approving the United States - Mexico – Canada Agreement (USMCA). The USMCA will create a more balanced, reciprocal trade relationship with Canada and Mexico, creating new opportunities for farmers, manufacturers, workers, and businesses and supporting high-paying jobs for Americans.
