Physical Demand

Due to the nature of the job, it is necessary to be able to pick up a 45 pound child and navigate both classrooms and playground. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision and distance vision up to 75 feet.
Work Environment
Primarily the ECE wing is comprised of offices, classrooms and playground. Noise level, toys on the floor and clutter will be as are normal to child care environments. Some programs and responsibilities will occur in other parts of the campus or at off-site venues not owned or under the control of the JCC.

What you’ll do:
As an early childhood education Teacher, you will create a warm, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate educational environment, while integrating a program of both Limudei Hol and Limudei Kodesh, and adhering to high-level standards of education and care.
<ul>
<li>Teach within a project-based program, leveraging engaging topics that integrate meaningful learning and development in all content areas across multiple domains</li>
<li>Facilitate student learning through hands-on educational activities, group management, self-expression and choice</li>
<li>Encourage the involvement of all students, parents, volunteers and staff in the learning process</li>
<li>Integrate and reinforce Judaic studies throughout daily learning and activities</li>
<li>Evaluate student progress, development, and behavior, and communicate evaluations with school counselors and parents</li>
<li>Participate in and support student and parent in-school activities </li>
<li>Cultivate core Jewish values such as kindness, respect, compassion and integrity within students</li>
</ul>
 
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree with intent to complete a Master’s degree</li>
<li>Certification in Early Childhood Education</li>
<li>Knowledge of Hebrew language and Jewish holidays and customs</li>
<li>Passion for students and early childhood education</li>
</ul>
 
Experience Needed:
<ul>
<li>Early Childhood Nursery Teacher &amp; Early Childhood Teacher  - 5 years of teaching experience</li>
<li>Early Childhood Pre-K Teacher - 3 years of teaching experience</li>
