Duties include:

 The Sunshine Center Preschool is searching for an experienced Early Childhood Educator who has expertise working with children who have developmental or physical disabilities.
Our preschool provides care for children ages 3-6 years old and we are in need of someone who has experience working with children in a range of developmental or physical disabilities. This person would not only have teacher qualifications, but may also have specialized training or certifications/experience dealing with children who are on the autism spectrum, be delayed speakers, or have physical limitations.
We are enrolled in the Preschool For All program in Multnomah County and there is an increased need for Early Childhood Educators who can assist with students who may have challenges in these areas. Currently our school has 4 students with IEP's and receive support from MECP. We would like someone on staff who can assist with the Individual Educational Plans and build curriculum for these students. An ability to work alongside our MECP specialists as well as build relationships with the parents of these children is highly desired.
*The role does include working with children who are on IEPs AND traditional curriculum plans. *The role will involve creating emmergent curriculum for all students, but an understanding of making modifications for those who need additional support. *The role does include support from a Teachers Aide and a maximum capacity of 11 students. *The School hours are 730-530p and the shift is 730-430p *This is a salary position, pay will be based on experie

Responsibilities
Preschool/Toddler teacher with an emphasis on special education
<ul>
<li>Provide exceptional care and security in a Christ-centered atmosphere</li>
<li>Employ a variety of educational techniques to teach children and facilitate curriculum daily</li>
<li>Organize nap and feeding times and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times</li>
<li>Communicate with parents regularly</li>
<li>Collaborate with other educators</li>
<li>Continuing education and training, as well as networking and development</li>
<li>Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards</li>
</ul>
Skills
<ul>
<li>Proven experience in childcare and/or teaching and an expressed interest in childcare work in the area of special education</li>
<li>Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms</li>
<li>Cool-tempered, friendly, and able to communicate effectively with parents and co-workers</li>
<li>Extremely reliable</li>
<li>Certification in child CPR and First Aid is preferred, but we will provide training</li>
<li>Associate or Bachelor in Early Childhood Development, equivalent, or a CDA preferred, but we will provide CDA training</li>
