Job Responsibilities
Mile Bluff Medical Center is seeking a qualified Certified Nurse Midwife to join a gynecologist and group of family physicians practicing obstetrics. The nurse midwife works independently in the clinic and hospital setting, but follows a collaborative care practice model. The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) delivers a full range of healthcare services for women, including care for the well woman, gynecological and family planning services, preconception care, care during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period, care for the well newborn and performs first assist in cesarean sections as needed. CNMs provide initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Certified Nurse Midwife
Lynn Community Health Center, a Joint Commission accredited FQHC located 11 miles north of Boston seeks a BC/BE Ob/Gyn to provide comprehensive perinatal care. Our team provide both outpatient and inpatient maternity care. Our call rotation includes Hospitalist support. Our multi-disciplinary care team is a unique model of fully integrated medical and behavioral health care with bi-lingual licensed therapists and case managers. We serve a diverse low-income city, with a large refugee and immigrant population, including many patients from Latin American countries, Iraq, Somalia and others. The health center provides extensive community health and prevention programs including innovative teen, HIV/AIDS, substance use disorder, refugee, dental, eye care, and school based services. QUALIFICATIONS:
M.S. in Nursing with specialization in Women’s Health Preferred.
Certification in Nurse Midwifery.
Registered Nurse with expanded practice license in the State of Massachusetts.
CPR Certification, bilingual preferred.
History of good attendance and positive work attitude.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years experience in midwifery.
Previous experience in community health centers.

What they’re looking for: 
•Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program required. 
•Two years of L&amp;D experience required. 
•Current Texas licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse &amp; Certified Nurse Midwife required. 
•Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment, before patient care is administered independently. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of employment. 
Hours and compensation potential: 
•The position if full time. Person will need to take call 7 days a month and anything over that is compensated. 
•Range is $120K-$140K with RVU bonus depending on experience. 
•A full benefits package included $1K CME allowance as well as a 5K sign-on bonus. 
What you’ll be doing: 
•Under general supervision of a Physician, the Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is an Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN) responsible for managing and providing women’s health care services related to pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, family planning and gynecological needs. 
•This position will deliver patient care in both clinic and hospital settings within an Ob/Gyn practice. 
•Provides excellent patient care by utilizing highly developed assessment, clinical, documentation, and analytical skills to identify, plan, and implement appropriate care plans for patients. 
•Effective management of both routine and complex clinic patients along with other clinic demands, as varied throughout the day, in balance with hospital duties as part of a provider team. 
•Effective management of admitted hospital patients, including antepartum, peripartum/laboring, and postpartum with minimal supervision. 
•Timely documentation of care, signing off of labs, and post-care patient communication to ensure best continuity of care while meeting financial targets. 
•Proper identification of patient need for escalation to Physician care when indicated, as urgent/emergent care issues arise. 
•Adheres to infection prevention and safety protocols. 
•Participates in a systemic, interdisciplinary, and ongoing evaluation of programs, process improvement, and desired client-centered outcomes. 
•Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, competence validation; supports department-based goals which contributed to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff. 
•Actively participates in survey readiness activities and assures that department is compliant with all regulatory standards. 
What you can expect is: 
•Position is located an hour from Houston. 
•Will work with a great group that is growing. Currently deliver about 20-25 babies monthly and would like to double that with 2 OB/Gyns and a Midwife. Currently have 1 OB/Gyn with more patients than they can see. 
•Facility is about 120 beds, accredited, not-for-profit acute care community hospital.
