JOB SUMMARY
The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care to cardiac patients and communicate with the physician continuously to ensure patient safety during procedures. Working with the Cardiology Service Leaders and Providers, the Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) assesses, plans, implements, and collaborates with other departments to ensure excellence in patient and family care, reflective of CCH mission, vision, and values. The Registered Nurse (RN) will integrate departmental goals for improvement across the care continuum. This position coordinates and delegates unit and patient care activities, as appropriate, to other health care providers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

<li>Provides intensive, direct patient care to Cardiac Catheterization lab patient populations in the roles of moderate sedation, circulating, and monitoring.</li>
<li>Performs patient assessment and documents in patient record.</li>
<li>Develops an age-appropriate plan of care, which addresses physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs, in collaboration with other members of the health care team.</li>
<li>Implements the plan of care, delegates appropriately and ensures documentation of interventions.</li>
<li>Evaluates progress towards desired outcomes, revises plan of care and intervenes as necessary.</li>
<li>Educates patient and families regarding current health status, plan of care, and anticipated outcomes.</li>
<li>Provides service excellence to all customers.</li>
<li>Demonstrates efficient time management and prioritization skills.</li>
<li>Maintains professional standards related to clinical practice, staffing and continuing education.</li>
<li>Practices fiscal responsibility and accountability.</li>
<li>Actively participates in hospital committees, CQI teams, and Quality Improvement Program.</li>
<li>Maintains a clean and safe environment.</li>
<li>May be required to work on other nursing units according to distribution of staff and patients.</li>
<li>Adequately assesses and reassesses pain and responds quickly to changes in patient status.</li>
<li>Communicates openly and efficiently with physician, patient, and other Cardiac Cath lab staff in regards to patient condition (i.e. hemodynamics, cardiovascular, and neurological status).</li>
<li>Maintains cardiac cath lab supplies and inventory.</li>
<li>Assists in the recording, storing, retrieval and analyzing data obtained during cardiovascular procedures.</li>
<li>Will monitor, scrub and/or circulate on Cath lab procedures.</li>
<li>Functions independently in respective home department.</li>
<li>Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.</li>

SUMMARY:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you are the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. The Cardiac Cath/Electrophysiology Lab performs tests to assess a heart's electrical system or activity and is used to diagnose abnormal heartbeats or arrhythmia. The test is performed by inserting catheters and then wire electrodes, which measure electrical activity, through blood vessels that enter the heart.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB SUMMARY
The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct patient care to cardiac patients and communicate with the physician continuously to ensure patient safety during procedures. Working with the Cardiology Service Leaders and Providers, the Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) assesses, plans, implements, and collaborates with other departments to ensure excellence in patient and family care, reflective of CCH mission, vision, and values. The Registered Nurse (RN) will integrate departmental goals for improvement across the care continuum. This position coordinates and delegates unit and patient care activities, as appropriate, to other health care providers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

<li>Provides intensive, direct patient care to Cardiac Catheterization lab patient populations in the roles of moderate sedation, circulating, and monitoring.</li>
<li>Performs patient assessment and documents in patient record.</li>
<li>Develops an age-appropriate plan of care, which addresses physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs, in collaboration with other members of the health care team.</li>
<li>Implements the plan of care, delegates appropriately and ensures documentation of interventions.</li>
<li>Evaluates progress towards desired outcomes, revises plan of care and intervenes as necessary.</li>
<li>Educates patient and families regarding current health status, plan of care, and anticipated outcomes.</li>
<li>Provides service excellence to all customers.</li>
<li>Demonstrates efficient time management and prioritization skills.</li>
<li>Maintains professional standards related to clinical practice, staffing and continuing education.</li>
<li>Practices fiscal responsibility and accountability.</li>
<li>Actively participates in hospital committees, CQI teams, and Quality Improvement Program.</li>

<li>Will monitor, scrub and/or circulate on Cath lab procedures.</li>
<li>Functions independently in respective home department.</li>
<li>Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.</li>
