JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES Obtains and maintains a Senior Reactor Operator License. Monitors and supervises plant operations outside of the Control Room. Coordinates with the FSS and WCC to ensure that operations outside the Control Room are performed in a safe and controlled manner. Assumes the responsibilities and authorities of Shift leadership in the control room should leadership not be present during transient or accident conditions. Authorizes and manages Control room access. Accepts signature authority for those tasks delegated by Shift leadership, except where specifically prevented by procedure. Assures compliance with all applicable regulations and procedures. Remains cognizant of radiological conditions and applies ALARA concepts to minimize personnel exposure. Authorizes, in conjunction with the SM and FSS, the implementation of scheduled or unscheduled work activities affecting station equipment, including corrective and preventative maintenance, modifications and protective tagging. Utilizes conservative decision making and human performance tools. Utilizes the station's corrective action programs to address issues and opportunities for improvement. Actively participates in training and personnel development opportunities. Participates in pre- and post-job evolutions. Directs installation of jumpers &amp; lifted leads in accordance with applicable procedures. Thoroughly familiar with and adhere to the conditions and limitations of the station operating license, technical specifications, operating procedures, and all other applicable regulations. Thoroughly familiar with routine operating data, reports, and logs that are required to be maintained and ensure their completion by the end of the shift; review and evaluate the data to assure safe operation. Determines the circumstances, analyzes the cause and recommends to shift leadership that station operation can proceed safely before the reactor is returned to power following a plant trip or an unscheduled or unexplained power reduction. Is present for the assigned shift in the control room or on tour within the plant when appropriately relieved. Assesses component operability/reportability. Believes and responds to instrument indications, unless proven to be incorrect. Assists Shift leadership in planning, coordinating, and improving all facets of plant operations. Informs Shift leadership of any abnormal conditions or changes to plant status and ensures initiation of corrective actions. Performs the role of Senior Reactor Operator for core alterations. Assists Shift leadership in completing performance evaluations of assigned personnel. Reduces reactor power or shuts down the reactor when the safety of the reactor is in jeopardy or when operating parameters exceed reactor protection set points and automatic shutdown does not occur. Recommends changes in plant procedures, personnel, operation, and equipment status to maximize plant and personnel efficiency as appropriate. Interfaces with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station activities. Communicates technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing. Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization. Coordinates the implementation of work activities including corrective and preventive maintenance, modifications and protective tagging. Work control supervisor provides the majority of planning and preparation for implementation. Conducts plant tours and performs periodic inspections and observations of work activities to ensure work practices, human performance tools and a safe work environment are being used and followed at all times. Staffs and supervises the building operators on the appointed shift through all conditions of start-up, shutdown, power generation, and emergency operations. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum education required of the position:

Direct SRO for Degreed:

<li>BS or equivalent in engineering, engineering technology or related physical sciences, or professional engineer license, and more than 18 months or more as a qualified non-licensed operator or a supervisor or manager in work control, operations, engineering, outage management, maintenance, radiation protection, chemistry, or accredited training at current or comparable (PWR) facility. -OR-</li>

Description:

<li>Provide regulatory support for significant station initiatives and/or Client’s objectives. This includes interface with Engineering Projects team members, other plant organizations, representatives of supporting vendors, peers in industry and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. This individual provides the regulatory and technical support detailed below for assigned tasks following defined station processes. At the Engineer I level this requires the ability to perform basic tasks with a limited amount of independence.</li>
</ul>
 
Principal Accountabilities:
<ul>
<li>Support project efforts by researching specified regulatory requirements and precedents and providing input, review and maintaining awareness of project activities and documentation to ensure alignment.</li>
<li>Working with established guidance or directions, review project activities and documents to assess whether licensing basis changes are required.</li>
<li>Support defined licensing basis changes by authoring and/or reviewing routine changes to the licensing basis that run the range from licensee authorized changes to NRC approved changes.</li>
<li>Provide lifecycle support for routine licensing actions under NRC review including developing responses to NRC requests, and supporting direct NRC interface through audits, clarification calls and public meetings.</li>
<li>Working with project management staff support others in completion of defined actions necessary for successful implementation of NRC approved licensing actions.</li>
<li>Attending industry training and workshops for personal development and growth.</li>
<li>Support Engineering Projects team members by offering limited topical level support for regulatory related project needs including assisting team members in performing regulatory fundamentals/processes.</li>
<li>Provide regulatory and technical support to existing plant regulatory and technical organizations for basic (normal and emergent) station needs.</li>

Required Education and Experience:

<li>Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and seven years of engineering experience in a technical environment, at least two of which must be in a Department of Energy or Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulated nuclear environment; OR a PE license obtained by accredited examination and seven years of engineering experience in a technical environment, at least four of which must be in a Department of Energy or Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulated nuclear environment. A high school diploma or GED is required. At least one diverse assignment.</li>

Required abilities and skills:

<li>Requires knowledge and ability to apply advanced engineering techniques, practices and theories, and methods to identify and solve complex problems.</li>

<li>Established engagement in industry working groups and committees.</li>
<li>Nuclear power plant operators license, basic/specialized plant engineering qualification or general plant certification.</li>

The estimated starting salary range for this role is $250,000 - $279,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on asemi-monthly basis.
