Hanna Interpreting Services LLC is a language service provider that connects bilingual and multilingual individuals with potential opportunities to serve as a freelance interpreter or translator. Our mission is to bridge the communication gap for those in need through excellent and compassionate language services. 
Hanna is seeking bilingual and multilingual individuals to operate as freelance interpreters in a 1099 Independent Contractor role. As an interpreter, you make a positive contribution to society in support of language access for everyone, regardless of their proficiency with the English language. As an independent contractor, you act as your own boss, set your availability, and accept appointments based on your schedule. 
Appointments are available Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm.
Appointments are not guaranteed and are offered based on need.
Requirements
How to Qualify:
<ul>
<li>Fluency in English and target language with a comprehensive understanding of idiomatic speech and cultural patterns.</li>
<li>Previous interpreting experience, preferably in medical, legal, or educational settings.</li>
<li>Demonstrated professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability in the workplace.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li>
<li>Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Ability to operate basic communication </li>
<li>Flexibility to work in different settings and adapt to various work environments.</li>
</ul>

<li>Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship).</li>
<li>High School Diploma or equivalent; or certification in interpreting or related fields.</li>

Job Description
Being a scribe will provide you with an invaluable experience working directly alongside a medical professional on the frontlines of healthcare.  A scribe is a motivated, dedicated and driven individual trained to document the details of a patient's medical encounter in real-time under the direct supervision of a physician or advanced practice provider.  
Outline of Essential Functions: 
<ol>
<li>Scribes accompany a provider to a patient exam room to document the patient dictated history, provider dictated physical examination findings, results of laboratory and radiologic studies, and procedures as performed by the provider.  </li>
<li>Scribes document the accurate timing of all patient care related activities, including provider to provider communication, patient and family communication and re-examinations of the patient.  </li>
<li>When the physician concludes the patient's encounter, the provider will review all documentation completed by the Scribe, make necessary amendments, and sign the chart.  The supervising physician is ultimately responsible for the documentation.</li>
</ol>
Additional Responsibilities:
<ol>
<li>Maintain and demonstrate an understanding of the team approach to patient care and documentation.</li>
<li>Participate in ongoing educational opportunities through team meetings.</li>
<li>Be responsive to improvement opportunities in a positive manner.</li>
<li>Communicate in a professional and respectful manner.</li>
</ol>
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities: 
<ol>
<li>Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to document patient care as dictated by a provider in a clear manner, following all local, state and federal guidelines for documentation.</li>
<li>Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with governing HIPAA regulations.</li>
<li>Demonstrate organizational ability to maintain and coordinate both electronic and paper records related to patient care for multiple patients at a time.</li>
</ol>
Minimum Position Qualifications: 
<ol>
<li>High school graduate.</li>
<li>Future healthcare student - physician, nursing, physician assistant, healthcare administration, etc.</li>
<li>Minimum one year availability to work and availability to maintain two shifts per week, including night, weekend and holiday availability. </li>
<li>Ability to multi-task in a high stress, fast paced environment.</li>
<li>Basic to intermediate knowledge of medical terminology.</li>
</ol>
Preferred Position Qualifications: 
<ol>
<li>College level education including health or medical related courses.</li>
<li>Advanced knowledge of medical terminology (either obtained from a medical terminology course, on the job experience, prior scribe experience, etc).</li>
<li>Fluent in a foreign language, preferably Spanish, with willingness to obtain translator certification.</li>
<li>Willing to provide availability to work 2 or more years and work 3 or more shifts per week.</li>

Our mission is to bridge the communication gap for those in need through excellent and compassionate language services. 
Hanna is seeking ASL (American Sign Language) Interpreters to work as freelance interpreters in a 1099 Independent Contractor role. As an interpreter, you make a positive contribution to society in support of language access for everyone, regardless of their proficiency with the English language.
