As a Maintenance Technician/Welder at AVEC you'll play a pivotal role in the member-driven service we provide and you will be asked to perform the duties of a Maintenance Technician but with a specialty in welding. The work of a Maintenance Technician/Welder involves organizing, directing, and performing construction tasks necessary to supply electrical energy to these remote villages via diesel generation and distribution systems. While traveling to our different communities, Maintenance Technicians instruct Power Plant Operators in equipment use, safe practices, and maintenance during field operations. Position responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of pumps, compressors, motors, machinery (film wrappers, box maker, dryers, tank agitators, conveyors, etc.)
- Work with supervision, craft and production, other maintenance craftsmen, production operators to trouble shoot and correct mechanical equipment problems in support of continuous production process in chemical plant environment.

Special Qualifications:
Proven mechanical aptitude, prior mechanic experience in an industrial atmosphere, familiarity with industrial rotating and power-driven equipment, ability to work hand tools, ability to use and apply precision measuring instruments for alignment and gauging. Requires reasoning, detailed work. Typical job responsibilities include ability to handle multiple priorities, perform critical thinking tasks including cause/effect analysis, crisis management and troubleshooting, follow work instructions and manufacturers repair and troubleshooting guides. Significant computer skills are required, including requirement to master plant databases used for various purposes in the workplace and email. Self-directed, computer-based training on updates to complex operating instructions is a job requirement.

Position Summary
Provides technical expertise on matters of electrical and instrumentation maintenance as they relate to process control, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.Candidate recommends needed improvements to operations and maintenance leadership in the area of equipment maintenance including philosophies, strategies, and best maintenance practices. Key Responsibilities
