Child and Family Guidance Center is seeking a client centeredHealth Services Specialist at our Waxahachie clinic office. The Health Services Specialist is a front-line administrative position at a Child and Family Guidance Center clinic. HSS are responsible for providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality. HSS provides administrative support for our clinics, management and clinicians.
Duties/Responsibilities:

<li>Performs new patient registration, updates patient information, enters data entry of demographics, and any other required information.</li>
<li>Verifies insurance benefit coverage to include co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance. Ensures accurate activations of plans and programs and records special notations in patient account software; assists patient with registration. To be completed at patient check in or prior to patient appointment.</li>
<li>Conducts eligibility screening on patients for various programs available through the Center, including predetermination. Refers patients who do not have insurance coverage to QMHP for assistance with application completion for special funded programs. Performs follow-up eligibility process to include contacting patient for additional information and contacting the funding source for eligibility status.</li>

Company Overview Mental Health Resource Center is a not-for-profit Florida corporation that provides a wide range of mental health and behavioral health care services to the community such as 24-hour emergency services, inpatient psychiatric services for children, adolescents, and adults as well as outpatient services such as medication management, case management, and counseling. Job Summary The Social Services Specialist Ensures quality programming and provision of structured recreational and socialization activities. Designs groups, activities and events of an educational, therapeutic and social nature to improve the skills of individuals receiving Crisis Stabilization services. Also, assesses needs and interest of Crisis Stabilization (CSU) and/or Childrens Crisis Stabilization (CCSU) patients to develop resources, make arrangements and implement plans that will assist the patient in their recovery and post-discharge environment. The crisis stabilization units provide emergency psychiatric services. Most patients are admitted involuntarily to the facility via the Baker Act, the mental health act of Florida. The normal length of stay on the unit for patients is typically 3-5 days. Due to the types of services provided, crisis stabilization units are a fast paced working environment and present employees with challenging and rewarding opportunities. Employees work together and support one another in a friendly, team oriented atmosphere. Responsibilities

<li>Plans, schedules and conducts therapeutic educational groups on variety of population specific topics.</li>
<li>Manages and administers the token economy program. Reviews recommendations periodically.</li>
<li>Orders and maintains activity supplies for groups and programming via the purchasing department or obtaining goods in person</li>
<li>Assists primary clinician in directing individuals in obtaining goals established within the treatment plan</li>
<li>Performs daily documentation reflecting observations of individuals in group activities. Documentation should include the following: level of participation, interaction, socialization and recreational skills.</li>

Qualifications

<li>In order to be considered, candidates must have a Bachelors Degree in Human Services field. Experience with the mental health population preferred. </li>
<li>The Social Services Specialist must be able to manage work assignments, complete tasks in a timely, accurate manner with minimal supervision, and interact therapeutically with patients and their families.</li>
<li>Candidates will need a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, email and the use of the Internet.</li>
