The core and coil assembler role is a heavy mechanical assembly position that focuses on the internal assembly of our core and coils. In this role, an employee will work on functions such as landing coils using an overhead crane, placing top yoke steel by hand, using hydraulic equipment to press coils, and utilizing crimping equipment to connect insulated copper cables. An employee in this role must train, develop skills, and demonstrate proficiency in all of the following work center areas: Coil Landing, Core &amp; Coil Assembly, and Internal Wiring. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Materials used in this position include wood, cotton and crepe tape, connectors, metal and fiber bolts, and threaded stock, paper and fiber tubes, cable, buss bars, glue, pressboard, switch gear, silver solder, cleat and lead assemblies, assorted conductors of various size, top yoke, core assembly, windings, wood supports, spacer rings, insulating material, wood blocks and others.
 Precision work and care required preventing major damage to components or unit. Operators work at heights up to approximately 18 feet. Top Yoke operation presents additional hazards because of sharp edges on steel. Assembly operations require mental and visual concentration to ensure compliance with engineering and quality specifications. S/he must be able to work in confined spaces, including working inside tanks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Tasks):

10. Maintains and repairs malfunctions at the satellite, chilled water, wastewater treatment plants and buildings, repairs gauges, pumps, filters and other controls and equipment.
11. Must be able to find the root cause of issues and think logically about solutions.

13. Must be able to use an array of tools and diagnostic devices to service and install parts.
14. Inspects assigned plant equipment for efficiency and safety.
