Job Responsibilities of Construction Inspectors Level I, II and III:

The Transportation Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for all maintenance on our fleet of over 160 trucks. 
The Mechanic will be:

<li>Performing preventative maintenance and required repairs on G&amp;C-owned diesel equipment such as Yard Trucks, Trailers, and Road Tractors.</li>
<li>Performing minor repairs to G&amp;C Leased equipment when necessary. </li>
<li>Assist the Transportation Maintenance Supervisor with repairing the wash bay equipment. </li>
<li>Assist with the installation of TeleTrac ELDs, RFID tags, Ezpass, and Drive Cam equipment.</li>
<li>Assist with the installation and maintenance of trailer/dolly GPS tracking equipment. </li>

<li>Assist with the collection of monthly equipment mileage/hours. </li>

Essential Functions:

About being our Transportation Resident Engineer 
As our Transportation Resident Engineer, you will work in conjunction with the Owner's Project Manager to compose and issue field orders, monitor the quality of the construction project and conformance with plans and specifications, monitor the contractor's safety implementation, determine monthly progress payments, create a daily report and monitor the daily reports of staff, initiate change proposals for design team review and approval, estimate cost of changes, negotiate costs with contractors, and recommend acceptance to the Owner's Project Manager.
 
Responsibility Highlights for our Transportation Resident Engineer
<ul>
<li>Provide pre-construction services including bid-ability/constructability reviews and bidding services</li>
<li>Provide contract administration, review contractor's schedule, respond to claims received from contractor, documenting progress of project, and respond to requests for information, submittals and change orders</li>
<li>Provide monitoring of project in accordance with approved plans, specifications, budget, and schedule</li>
<li>Daily personal interactions/coordination with clients, designers, owners, contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies</li>
<li>Direct and supervise field construction management staff and their activities and other Psomas/Owner sub-consultants, as directed</li>
<li>Facilitate project delivery and the resolution of project issues</li>

Minimum Qualifications to be our Transportation Resident Engineer
<ul>
<li>Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California</li>
<li>Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience administering Caltrans and local agency contracts</li>
<li>10+ years' construction management or project management experience</li>
<li>Ability to travel between project sites and office facilities</li>
<li>Ability to work on-site in a construction trailer or building where exposure to heights, ability to walk on uneven surface, stand, climb ladders, crawl, stoop, enter confined spaces, tolerate heat, cold, dirt, odors, wastewater, chemicals, and other construction hazards that may exist</li>

Job Description
CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking experienced Transportation Construction Inspectors for projects in PennDOT District 6, Montgomery County, for the upcoming 2025 construction season. Pennsylvania residents preferred. CDR offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects, career progression opportunities and competitive benefits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
<ul>
<li>Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor.</li>
<li>Responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work.</li>
<li>Prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules.</li>
<li>Checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variation.</li>
<li>Maintains records of quantities and cost of materials used.</li>
<li>Prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment.</li>
</ul>
OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
<ul>
<li>Travel as required a as it relates to above duties or as directed by supervisor. </li>
<li> Provide positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company.</li>
<li> Other duties which may be required which are commensurate with the position.</li>
</ul>
Requirements
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or GED, required. Construction Management or Civil Engineering degree is a plus.</li>
<li>Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English and perform basic math computations for length, area, and volume. </li>
<li>Minimum of one (1) year PennDOT experience or higher or minimum of two (2) years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience.</li>
<li>Four (4) years of highway or bridge construction, non-highway or bridge inspection, or highway or bridge design experience and non-inspection personnel must successfully complete the twelve (12) web- based TCI training modules can substitute for other required experience. </li>
<li>Civil Engineering or Construction degree can substitute for needed experience.</li>
<li>Bachelor's of Science degree in a non-Civil Engineering field with the successful completion of the twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules can substitute for needed experience. </li>
</ul>
The following certifications are preferred:
NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction 
NECEPT Bituminous field certification
ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
ECMS experience
OSHA 10-Hour certification
