The Medical Assistant is responsible for serving as a liaison between patients, nurses, Surgeons, and facility staff. Must be willing to help in all areas including sterilization, operating room circulating, and the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
(Rotating) Duties &amp; Responsibilities: Vary depending on business needs

<li>Applies sanitary, infection control, and safety standards in preparing and sanitizing surgical instruments.</li>
<li>Accurately and safely handles instruments in accordance with our sterilization process</li>
<li>Ensures equipment is properly always working. Should equipment malfunction, immediately escalate to Clinical Administrator for assistance if unable to resolve</li>
<li>Correctly peel-packs supplies/instruments, wraps instruments for sterilization, inspects each instrument for use, function, completeness, and cleanliness</li>
<li>Documents and maintains accurate sterilization records</li>
<li>Performs simple maintenance on equipment (i.e., clean filters and drains)</li>
<li>Prepares trays for designated areas according to policies and procedures</li>
<li>Documents and maintains an inventory of supplies and materials</li>
<li>Prepares the surgery suites by gathering, organizing, and preparing surgical supplies and equipment for surgical procedures</li>
<li>Monitors inventory of all surgical supplies and equipment and notifies appropriate individuals when supplies are needed</li>
<li>Operates medical equipment and performs technical skills according to set policies and standards of care. Seeks timely assistance as appropriate</li>
<li>Restock surgery suites with appropriate supplies when procedures have ended for the day</li>
<li>Collaborates with members of the surgical and clinical team in developing coordinated outcomes and interventions regarding patient progress and care</li>
<li>Ensures the operating rooms are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner at all times</li>
<li>Always follows established HIPPA policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Brings patients into the examination room in preparation for their follow-up visit</li>
<li>Takes and records patient vital signs and obtains urine samples</li>
<li>Cleans examination room and executes room turnover</li>
<li>Works hand in hand with Surgeons, Massage Therapists, and Nurses to ensure workflow is efficient</li>
<li>Communicate with the patients in a manner that instills understanding and confidence about their post-procedure healing instructions</li>
<li>Records appropriate patient information on patient charts and/or Salesforce</li>
<li>Reports any problems or unusual circumstances to the Clinical Administrator and Surgeon</li>
<li>Understands and follows procedures for post-surgical and procedural processes</li>
<li>Provide excellent customer service, ensuring that client's unique needs are met</li>
<li>Displays consistent professionalism and is empathetic and energetic with patients</li>
<li>Provides basic direct care to patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse</li>
<li>Monitors vital signs and reports patient’s behavior and well-being to the PACU Registered Nurses</li>

Education and Experience:
