National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Construction Inspector to support railroad safety services for Class 1 Railroads, Regional Short Lines, Transit Systems, State DOT's, as well as Railroad Suppliers, Contractors, and Consultants alike. 
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. 
Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in one or more of the following, civil construction inspection involving grade separation projects, roadway paving/construction, utility work and/or experience with a Freight Railroad, Regional Short Line Railroad, Transit System, State DOT Highway or Rail Division, Railroad Supplier, Highway/Railroad Contractor, Commercial Construction, and/or Civil Engineering/Railroad Consultant.

<li>Cleans and prepares specific areas of jobsite as assigned. This may include digging trenches; erecting scaffolding; cleaning up rubble, debris, and trash; or removing hazardous materials. </li>
<li>Operates a wide variety of hand and power tools.</li>
<li>Directs traffic near, in, or around work zones.</li>
<li>Motions equipment operator to assist with alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.</li>
<li>Cleans jobsite at the end of the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of and materials or equipment are properly stored.</li>
<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Required Education:
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma or equivalent</li>
<li>Strong mechanical background or any relevant certifications</li>
</ul>
Required Skills and Experience:
<ul>
<li>Must have a valid PA driver’s license</li>
</ul>
Working Conditions:
<ul>
<li>Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.</li>
<li>Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.</li>
<li>Must be able to work in all weather conditions. </li>
<li>Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 60 pounds. </li>

Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES&nbsp;include the following:
<ul>
<li>Must be able to perform basic math and read a tape measure.</li>
<li>Sanitary waste/vent, storm, domestic water, and plumbing fixtures/trim and equipment (water heaters, sump pumps etc.)</li>
<li>Layout and install hangers for system installation</li>
<li>Be able to work off drawings (structural, architectural, civil, plumbing, mechanical and cut sheets) and understand how plumbing / piping systems work.</li>
<li>Ability to take off and communicate tools and material requirements to the supervisor</li>
<li>Other duties will be assigned as needed.</li>
