Must be a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) via NMTCB or hold Nuclear Medicine certification ARRT(N) and have a minimium of 1+ years Nuclear Medicine experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract role offers the opportunity to work a consistent schedule with occasional extended hours based on caseload, plus flexibility to float to other campuses as needed. Key Responsibilities:

<li>State licensure as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) in Texas.</li>
<li>Basic computer proficiency.</li>
<li>Current BLS (AHA) certification.</li>

Schedule:

<li>Performs quality controls on equipment used each day, and performs and processes a wide range of clinical nuclear medicine studies including PET/CT, general Nuclear Medicine, and cardiac imaging</li>
<li>Prepares and administers radioactive substances according to guidelines and protocols, set by the Nuclear Medicine Department, the hospital Radiation Safety Department, and other requirements established by has the NRC and NHPP</li>

<li>Evaluates the quality of images taken and additional images when necessary</li>

<li>Prepares and administers contrast material orally, by enema, or under close supervision of radiologists, intravenously but not independently; as required by procedure or patient’s condition, monitors vital signs (blood pressure and heart rate), and reports any significant changes to a radiologist</li>
<li>Lifts, positions, pushes, and transfers patients, supplies, and/or equipment as needed</li>
<li>Performs related clerical duties such as sending images to PACS, archiving images, and case editing of computer requests and reports</li>
<li>As required, maintains records and enters patient information into the computer through the use of the Radiology Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) package</li>

Qualifications
