Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors at Level II to work with our Construction Engineering Inspection team on highway construction projects in the Fayetteville area and throughout North Carolina.
Responsibilities:

<li>Assist in the inspection of various roadways and structures construction operations and perform a variety of calculations and computations with supervision.</li>
<li>Perform materials sampling and testing.</li>
<li>Collect materials weigh tickets and conduct various roadway tests to ensure materials delivered to project meets specifications and are placed in accordance with standard specification.</li>

Skills and Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Oversee contractor operations to ensure compliance with contract documents, design specifications, and permit requirements.</li>
<li>Coordinate inspection activities across multiple active work crews.</li>
<li>Track daily work quantities and complete detailed inspection documentation.</li>
<li>Prepare daily reports, monthly estimates, and as-built drawings.</li>
<li>Conduct field inspections, materials testing, and maintain accurate testing logs.</li>
<li>Review and validate contractor pay estimates.</li>
<li>Support project engineers with field data, sketches, and reports.</li>
<li>Maintain project diaries and document deficiencies or field issues.</li>
<li>Review contractor schedules (CPM and monthly updates).</li>
<li>Communicate regularly with engineers, owners, and stakeholders to maintain alignment and transparency.</li>
<li>Uphold a proactive, solution-oriented approach throughout all phases of construction.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma or State Equivalency Certificate required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.</li>
<li>6+ years of hands-on construction inspection experience with an emphasis on roadway, bridge, utility construction, and pavement rehabilitation.</li>
<li>Proficiency in interpreting plans, specifications, and technical drawings.</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.</li>
<li>Comfortable working night shifts and overtime as required.</li>
<li>Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.</li>
</ul>
Certifications &amp; Training (Required):

<li>Asphalt (Asphalt Field Level I &amp; II)</li>
<li>Soils and Aggregate Compaction</li>

Senior Construction Inspector - Transportation / Bridge

Job Description
CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors for an upcoming multi-year, Turnpike project that is scheduled to start late Winter/early Spring of 2025. This heavy-highway construction project is a bridge replacement over the mainline PA Turnpike, located between the Gettysburg Pike (MP 236) and the Harrisburg West (MP 242) exits of the Turnpike.
The Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) is responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, PA Turnpike staff, and others in matters related to the plans, specifications, materials, equipment, methods, practices, and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the contractor’s work. The TCI prepares daily progress reports to document the work activities that were inspected; maintains progress schedules; reviews contractor’s submissions and quotations for variations; keeps records of quantities and cost of materials used; prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment.
Relocation or sponsorship is not available. Local candidates highly desirable.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
