Qualifications:

<li>Bachelor's and/or master’s degree in accounting, Taxation, or a related field</li>

<li>Minimum 2 years of experience in state and local tax, with a strong emphasis on sales tax, preferably in a public accounting or consulting firm</li>
<li>Knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulations</li>
<li>Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment</li>
<li>Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite</li>
<li>Located within commuting distance of Grand Rapids, Troy, or Houston office</li>

 Job Details: Our firm is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Associate to join our dynamic team in the Accounting and Finance industry. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse client base, including real estate partnerships, S corps, C corps, trusts, and individuals. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns, providing tax planning and consulting services, and maintaining strong relationships with our clients. This position requires a strong knowledge of CCH Prosystem FX Tax/CCH Axcess, financial statement analysis, and tax review procedures. Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li> Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, and corporations, including real estate entities.</li>
<li> Research and consult on various tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries when requested.</li>
<li> Provide tax planning and consulting to our firm’s high net worth clients for estate, wills and trusts, business activities, investments, and other matters.</li>
<li> Proactively interact with key client management to gather information, resolve tax-related issues, and make tax recommendations.</li>
<li> Participate in client meetings and collaborate with the tax team to prepare and deliver the final product to the client.</li>
<li> Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax practices and changes in tax law.</li>
<li> Handle routine client tax questions and work with clients to collect necessary information for tax return completion and compliance.</li>
<li> Assist in training and mentoring junior staff.</li>
<li> Work on multiple, complex projects simultaneously in a team-oriented environment.</li>
</ul>
 Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li> Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Master’s Degree or CPA certification is preferred.</li>
<li> Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a heavy concentration in tax services.</li>
<li> Proficiency in CCH Prosystem FX Tax/CCH Axcess.</li>
<li> Strong experience in real estate tax and real estate partnerships.</li>
<li> Experience with S corp, C corp, trust, and individual tax returns.</li>
<li> Strong skills in reviewing financial statements and tax reviews.</li>
<li> Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li> Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines and budgets.</li>
<li> Ability to work well in a team environment and train staff.</li>
<li> Ability to foster and maintain professional and productive relationships with clients.</li>
<li> Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills.</li>
<li> Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. </li>
