Responsibilities:
The Electronics Test &amp; Repair Engineer III will be tasked with more advanced project scopes involving the following:

An Electronics Repair/Test Engineer is responsible for the testing and repair of various analog and power electronics systems that are directly related to Nuclear Safety. A strong candidate for this position possesses a working knowledge of analog and power electronics used in power supplies, inverters, battery chargers, and various signal conditioning and processing systems. This position will be required to develop detailed test procedures / documents for the functional testing of the specimen as well as the replacement components required for the repair. The individual will be responsible for providing detailed circuit analysis as well as detailed circuit operation justification to be documented.
Responsibilities:
The Principal Electronics Repair &amp; Test Engineer will be tasked with the most advanced project scopes involving the following:
<ul>
<li>Perform functional testing to generate documentation necessary for technicians to perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide variety of analog and power electronics systems.</li>
<li>Create project documentation including acceptance test procedures, repair reports and technical memos for various electronics systems with and without any technical documentation or specifications available.</li>
<li>Translate technical aspects and requirements into formal documentation.</li>
<li>Read schematics and assembly drawings.</li>
<li>Generate equivalency evaluations for comparison of replacement components after repairs/refurbishments.</li>
<li>Create dedication and qualification paperwork of commercially available components for safety related applications in nuclear utilities.</li>
<li>Analyze circuitry to be able to determine theory of operation and define operating parameters.</li>
<li>Evaluate components for the impact to for form, fit, function and environmental qualification requirements.</li>
<li>Design and develop test benches for testing.</li>
<li>Perform failure analysis of various components and recommend solutions.</li>
<li>Use various electronics lab test equipment to perform troubleshooting down to the component level.</li>
<li>Communicate with suppliers to resolve non-conforming purchase order requirements and materials.</li>
<li>Communicate with customers to answer technical questions.</li>
<li>Additional related tasks may be assigned by management.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (alternatives will be considered).</li>
<li>Minimum of 8 years of experience working in repair, test, and/or analog engineering.</li>
<li>Strong background in troubleshooting down to the component level required.</li>
<li>Must be able to produce documentation at a high level of quality with attention to detail and in accordance with Paragon procedures.</li>
<li>Possess good communication and organizational skills need to work within a team environment.</li>
<li>Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators, and various testing equipment is preferred.</li>
<li>Experience working within a Quality program is a plus.</li>

Roles and responsibilities:

<li>Performs work in which the principles, theories, concepts of chemical process design, scale-up, energetic materials synthesis, computational modeling, simulation and general body of knowledge of engineering or science are required. </li>
<li>Typical duties include supporting design, construction, testing, production, and operations. </li>
<li>Other duties include preparing drawings, specifications, calculations/simulations, studies and other documents, cost estimates, and participation in verification tests. </li>
<li>Engineer may lead other engineers and professionals, technicians, craft workers, and laborers in projects of moderate or small scope, which are closely related to their area of technical expertise. </li>
<li>Preform difficult and complex technical project assignments. </li>
<li>Prepares technical specifications based on weapon requirements provided by the design agencies. </li>
<li>Acts as a leader, advisor, or mentor, as required, in the design and application of products, processes, devices, and equipment with other engineer, scientist, and technical staff. </li>

Minimum Qualifications / Education / Experience: Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Physical Science [Physics, or related]. Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Physical Science must be from an engineering Accreditation program in the United States or designated equivalents from Canada or Mexico, the Washington Accord, or the list of substantially equivalent as documented by ABET. In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 2 years job-related and at least 1-year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative).
