Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors at Level III to work with our Construction Engineering Inspection team on highway construction projects in the Fayetteville area and throughout North Carolina.
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Assist in the inspection of various roadways and structures construction operations and perform a variety of calculations and computations with supervision.</li>
<li>Perform materials sampling and testing.</li>
<li>Collect materials weigh tickets and conduct various roadway tests to ensure materials delivered to project meets specifications and are placed in accordance with standard specification.</li>
<li>Monitor and perform all types of inspection work on complex and routine highway projects.</li>
<li>Perform and maintain daily record keeping of project activities and prepare monthly project estimates.</li>
<li>Take field measurements of various completed work items and make calculations to determine contract pay quantities.</li>
<li>Read plans and blueprints.</li>
</ul>
Skills and Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>High School diploma or equivalent. </li>
<li>Working knowledge of mathematics in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry and the ability to apply formulas. </li>
<li>Proficient in using iPad, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Dropbox and/or OneDrive.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently, use own judgment and make decisions. </li>
<li>Good written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to perform required testing and maintain detailed reports.</li>
<li>Ability to communicate effectively with agency and contractor personnel and the general public.</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret roadway, bridge and structure plans and contract specifications.</li>
<li>Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 12 hours a day on occasion. </li>
<li>Must have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and twist, use hands to grasp and arms to reach, to raise hands above head, to sit, climb and balance and to work in confined spaces and heights with adequate vision to perform tasks. </li>
<li>Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, on occasion.</li>
<li>Ability to work outside in various weather conditions. </li>
<li>Valid Driver's license with a good driving record and ability to drive. </li>
<li>Level II Technicians: Minimum four years of relevant experience. Must be able to perform duties without supervision and be able to read resource materials to determine answers to simple inspection requirements.</li>
<li>Level III Technicians: Minimum five years of relevant experience. Must be able to perform duties without supervision and be able to read resource materials to determine answers to simple inspection requirements.</li>

CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking an experienced Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor for projects around the Montgomery County, PA area, PennDOT District 6 for the upcoming 2026 Construction season. Immediate consideration for qualified Construction Inspection candidates.
Relocation or sponsorship is not available. Local candidates highly desirable.
The Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor (TCIS) is responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work. The TCIS prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules; checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations; keeps records of quantities and cost of materials used; prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment. TCIS may supervise a staff of inspectors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

<li>Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with the contractor’s health and safety plan.</li>
<li>Check that delivered materials conform to the contract documents.</li>

CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors for projects around the Greater Allentown area, PennDOT District 5 for the upcoming full construction season for 2025.
The Transportation Construction Inspector (TCI) is responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work. The TCI prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules; checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variations; keeps records of quantities and cost of materials used; prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
