Requirements/Responsibilities
As Store General Manager, your duties will include but not limited to: Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the store. Supervises four to five non-supervisory employees and one assistant store manager/sales manager in a team environment. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities also include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees. * Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results. * Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. * Ensuring availability of merchandise and services by maintaining inventories. * Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures. * Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. * Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements. * Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment. * Determines marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records. * Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures. Previous Rent to Own and/or wheel and tire experience is desirable but not necessary. Language Ability: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from upper management, employees, vendors, customers and the general public. Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software; Payroll systems; Internet software; and Database software. We are seeking a Retail Store General Manager for our NEW Santa Clara store! Top candidates will have high-volume big box store leadership experience as they will manage all sales, operations, service and support activities and ensure the overall success of our NEW big box computer retail store.&nbsp;
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;

<li>Consistently achieve store sales and profit objectives, including management of payroll expenses.</li>
<li>Develop and implement plans to increase profitability and reduce expenses based on P&amp;L results.</li>
<li>Identify, effectively communicate and resolve store issues, informing appropriate District and Home Office personnel as needed.</li>
<li>Execute and participate in floor and front-end leadership activities, including store open and close procedures.</li>

EDUCATION &amp; REQUIREMENTS:

<li>Five to seven years of experience with a major big box retailer in a high-volume, 30,000+ square-foot store, with at least 100 employees and accountability for profit and loss, within the consumer electronics industry preferred.</li>
<li>Previous experience in all aspects of retail management: driving sales, merchandising, operations, freight flow and customer service.</li>
<li>Experience in human resources functions and capable of hiring, retaining and coaching qualified employees and managers.</li>
<li>Ability to execute corporate initiatives and analyze the competition.</li>
<li>Physical requirements: lift up to 50 lbs., stand for prolonged periods of time.</li>
<li>Shifts include hours before and after the store is open to the public and may also include mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.</li>
<li>A college degree is strongly preferred.</li>
