Job Description
CDR Maguire Inc., a national multi-disciplinary engineering firm is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors for an upcoming project in Kutztown, PA area (Berks County), PennDOT District 5. This is a 5-6 week concrete project scheduled to start second week of June 2025. Concrete experience required, certification preferred. Upon completion of the project, will be assigned to another available project.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
<ul>
<li>Ensure compliance with the contract documents by the contractor.</li>
<li>Responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work.</li>
<li>Prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules.</li>
<li>Checks shop drawings and contractors' quotations for variation.</li>
<li>Maintains records of quantities and cost of materials used.</li>
<li>Prepares contractors' periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment.</li>
</ul>
OTHER PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
<ul>
<li>Travel as required a as it relates to above duties or as directed by supervisor. </li>
<li> Provide positive attitude to establish competence and pride in the company.</li>
<li> Other duties which may be required which are commensurate with the position.</li>

Requirements
<ul>
<li>High school diploma or GED, required. </li>
<li>Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English and perform basic math computations for length, area, and volume. </li>
<li>Minimum of one (1) year PennDOT experience or higher or minimum of two (2) years of transportation, highway, or bridge construction inspection experience. </li>
<li>Four (4) years of highway or bridge construction, non-highway or bridge inspection, or highway or bridge design experience and non-inspection personnel must successfully complete the twelve (12) web- based TCI training modules can substitute for other required experience. </li>
<li>Civil Engineering or Construction degree can substitute for needed experience.</li>
<li>Bachelor’s of Science degree in a non Civil Engineering field with the successful completion of the twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules can substitute for needed experience. </li>
</ul>
The following certifications are preferred:
NICET Level 2 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction 
NECEPT Bituminous field certification
ACI/PennDOT Concrete field technician certification
PennDOT/PTC CDS certification
ECMS experience
 OSHA 10-Hour certification

The essential functions of the Associate Engineer class may vary depending on assignment and include: preparing engineering designs, drawings and specifications; preparing cost and quantity estimates for necessary labor, materials and equipment associated with construction, contractors, suppliers, installation, repair, restoration and maintenance; providing engineering support to operations staff; reviewing existing conditions and conducting studies of processes by identifying, obtaining and analyzing samples and data; analyzing and resolving problems to ensure compliance with regulatory and performance standards and specifications; supervising the preparation of detailed engineering drawings, specifications and calculations; assigning and reviewing the work of subordinate staff and consultants; determining resources necessary to complete assigned work; reviewing plans, permit applications and specifications developed by staff, consultants and contractors; verifying quantities, dimensions, safety requirements, and quality of work for engineering projects; preparing and supervising the preparation of a wide variety of technical engineering reports and other documentation; interviewing, selecting, training, monitoring, evaluating and counseling staff; preparing a variety of bid documents; reviewing and analyzing bids; and conducting meetings and making presentations. Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications 
&nbsp; &nbsp;1. Three (3) years of verifiable professional engineering experience of which two (2) years of professional experience equivalent to the City &amp; County of San Francisco Class&nbsp;5203 Assistant Engineer&nbsp;or higher;
AND
&nbsp; &nbsp;2. Possession of a current Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California in Civil, Traffic, or Transportation Engineering.
Substitutions:
1. Candidates licensed in other states who otherwise meet the minimum requirements of this announcement, but do not possess the required California license, may file for this examination, and if successful, will be placed under waiver on the resulting eligible list until the required California license is presented.
2. There is no substitution for the required two years of work experience equivalent to a 5203 Assistant Engineer or higher.
3. A Masters degree in Transportation (Traffic) Engineering disciplines may substitute for (1) one year of work experience in the environmental specialty.
4. A Ph.D. in Transportation (Traffic) Engineering disciplines may substitute for 2 (two) years of work experience in the environmental specialty.
5. As a new recruitment for this classification will be opening shortly after the eligible list for this one has been adopted, there is no general waiver available for City and County of San Francisco employees who have six (6) months experience as a 5203 Assistant Engineer, but less than the required experience for this position, to be admitted to the exam process.
License or Certificate:
Some positions may require a valid driver license.
Working Conditions:&nbsp;Some positions may require specific lifting up to 50 pounds; climbing ladders; working in high places and confined spaces; exposure to various weather conditions and outdoors; bending, sitting, and walking for extended periods of time and over uneven surfaces. Positions in this class may also be required to work specific schedules which may include weekends, holidays, part time, nights, and/or overtime.

However, an eligible list shall be made available for public inspection, upon request once the eligible list is exhausted or expired and referrals resolved. The eligible list/score report resulting from this civil service examination process is subject to change after adoption (e.g., as a result of appeals), as directed by the Human Resources Director or the Civil Service Commission.

Job Description
ESP Associates, Inc. is actively looking to bring an experienced CEI Inspector on to our team for bridge and highway projects in Manteo, NC and the Outer Banks. CEI Technician levels include T1, T2, and T3. Previous experience in the inspection of transportation projects and certifications from DOT are preferred.
 
Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Perform inspector duties on NCDOT and County transportation construction projects including inspection services for asphalt, concrete, erosion control, traffic control, earthwork, and other construction materials and processes as influenced by the project</li>
<li>Coordinate schedules, distribute tasks, and provide support to all levels of inspectors </li>
<li>Complete daily diaries to include earthwork quantities, pile driving logs, progress updates, and any other necessary documentation as per management or client </li>
<li>Ensure project organization and coordination with other field personnel </li>
<li>Assist with the preparation of the project’s monthly estimate</li>
<li>Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed per NCDOT Standard Specifications and as well as jobsite drawings</li>
<li>Obtain, prepare, record and review all materials used for the project to ensure correspondence with specifications </li>
<li>Measure and verify installations and dimensions of all construction activities</li>

Qualifications:
