Nuclear Medicine Technologist

<h3>Job Description</h3>
Summary:
 
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, will provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help to facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The technologist will demonstrate flexibility by working other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The technologist must be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Expectation to participate in ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within their scope of licensure. The technologists will adhere to, and maintain, the expected imaging competencies as outlined by management. Observe radiation, personnel, and patient safety measures. Maintains radiation safety protocol while handling radionuclides and pharmaceuticals used in the department. Completes daily logs and periodic tests performed as required by the license. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organization's mission, values, and culture.

<li>Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care as deemed appropriate by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.</li>
<li>Performs examinations/procedures as needed to assist in patient throughput within the scope of the Manager’s license(s), certification(s), and/or documented competencies.</li>
<li>Demonstrates flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed or required.</li>
<li>Ensures completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS.</li>
<li>Ability to follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate any problem(s) or issue(s) to the PACS administrator or Designee if needed.</li>
<li>Troubleshoots and reports any equipment malfunctions to the Director/Manager and/or Biomedical personnel; does appropriate follow-up.</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>

Experience

<li>1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting preferred</li>
<li>Basic computer experience required</li>

<li>Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) by ARRT or NMTCB required</li>
<li>State Licensure required</li>
<li>Texas: MRT by TMB</li>
<li>Louisiana: LRT (N) or (F) by LSRTBE</li>

<li>BLS required</li>

<h3>Job Description</h3>
Performs nuclear medicine and PET exams maintaining maximal patient safety and comfort. Exams include all parts of the vasculature structures and organ systems.
 
SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED

<li>Technical skills in nuclear medicine technology</li>
<li>Technical skills in computed tomography</li>
<li>Knowledge of all vasculature and organ systems</li>
<li>Skilled in the use of radioisotopes </li>
<li>Basic patient care and assessment techniques</li>
<li>Knowledgeable in ALARA, radiation physics, radiation biology, radiation protection and medical terminology. </li>
<li>High degree of accuracy in radioisotope exposure techniques</li>
</ul>

Qualifications:-
Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT) – Required.
Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) OR Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) – Required.
Prior experience in nuclear medicine imaging – Preferred.

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team for a travel assignment. This role involves performing a wide range of general Nuclear Medicine procedures and PET/CT studies. Candidates must be skilled in cardiac procedures, including Lexiscan stress testing, and comfortable working in an acute care setting. Strong knowledge of imaging equipment, radiation safety, and patient care protocols is essential.
 
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience
Certifications: BLS, NMTCB, ARRT (N)
Active California State License 
Previous travel experience preferred 
Proficiency with Epic charting preferred
 
Additional Details:
Must be willing to float within the state if needed
Candidates must commit to working at least 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day)
