As a member of the Fixed &amp; Income Annuity Pricing team, you will help support the pricing of a $15B+ fixed and income annuity business. Job Description 
SSPA will be responsible for structuring and pricing new NA FINSOL transactions. The position will work closely with the FINSOL business development team on new opportunities and will include some amount of travel. The position will also have an emphasis on product development. 
Key Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Structure and price financial reinsurance solutions understanding the accounting, regulatory and economic risk parameters</li>
<li>Development pricing models analyzing the risk and profitability of life reinsurance solutions:
<ul>
<li>Organize, evaluate and analyze data need for transactions</li>
<li>Will interact with L&amp;H risk officers, senior executives and other team members seeking approval on transactions</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Contribute to deal execution including responding to RFPs, assisting in negotiating terms with clients and authoring internal approval memorandums</li>
<li>Prepare and present internal and external presentations on life reinsurance topics as required </li>
</ul>
Qualifications 
Technical Skills / Competencies: 
<ul>
<li>Strong actuarial background working on life insurance / reinsurance transactions; pricing, valuation or financial reporting</li>
<li>Familiar with various capital regimes: NAIC RBC, BSCR or Solvency II</li>
<li>Knowledge of USGAAP accounting standards and financial reporting is advantageous</li>
<li>Prior experience working on financial solution transactions would be advantageous</li>
<li>Proficient in building MS-Excel models taking projected balance sheet and income statements into transaction specific models</li>
</ul>
Behavioral Competencies: 
<ul>
<li>Comfortable in a client facing capacity as well as working in a dynamic and fast paced environment</li>

We’re actively seeking a talented&nbsp;Associate Actuary&nbsp;to join our&nbsp;Experience Studies team&nbsp;within the&nbsp;Consumer Markets Division. This role will be onsite at either our&nbsp;Newport Beach, CA&nbsp;or&nbsp;Omaha, NE&nbsp;office. This role follows a hybrid schedule of four days in the office (on-site). If you are not currently located near one of our offices, you will be required to relocate. As an Associate Actuary (ASA) you will play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by supporting the experience studies function, enhancing our predictive analytics capabilities throughout the product lifecycle, and producing data-driven insights related to mortality and policyholder behavior of our annuity products. Your colleagues will include data scientists and fellow actuarial professionals.
As an actuarial student with an ASA credential, you will automatically be enrolled in our&nbsp;Student Actuarial Rotation Program. The purpose of the program is to develop and broaden the skills, knowledge, and experience of actuaries across Pacific Life. Students typically rotate every 18–24 months to gain exposure to multiple functional areas, products, and technologies. The program offers competitive benefits designed to encourage and support progress toward the Fellowship designation, including paid study time, reimbursement for registration fees and study materials, and bonuses and raises for passing exams and modules.
How you will make an impact:

Provide support and lead the preparation of experience studies for assumption setting. Identify opportunities to improve existing data processes using R, Alteryx, or Snowflake.

Prepare data and conduct analyses for experience studies. Run reports to answer management questions and provide visibility into emerging experience across issued business.

<li>
Collaborate with model owners to understand how assumptions are reflected in the model and document them appropriately.
</li>
<li>
Create and maintain Tableau dashboards to monitor actual vs. expected experience for various products and riders.
</li>
<li>
Prepare data for participation in external industry studies to validate assumptions and benchmark against competitors. Summarize and report key findings.
</li>
<li>
Perform peer reviews for various experience studies.
</li>
<li>
Monitor and develop tools to track emerging trends that could impact product profitability.
</li>
<li>
Implement process improvements, automation, and efficiencies where applicable.
</li>
<li>
Provide additional data and summaries in response to ad hoc requests from internal teams related to divisional experience studies, external industry studies, or dashboards.

ASA credential with 4+ years of professional actuarial experience

Direct experience with statistical computing software (e.g., R, Python, SQL) working with predictive models
