The Chief of Endocrinology will provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the&nbsp;Division. The Division Chief will be responsible for all planning, policy, operations, and&nbsp;oversight of academic, research, and clinical programs of the Division. The Chief of Endocrinology&nbsp;will have financial authority over the division&nbsp; budget, including extramural research and&nbsp;philanthropic funding received and other financial matters for the division, in accordance with&nbsp;applicable University policies and practices. The Chief of Endocrinology will have discretion in&nbsp;the recruitment and retention of division faculty who will have a direct reporting line. Job DescriptionLicensure/Certification Qualifications:NP/PA – Nephrology, Duluth Clinic, 1.0 FTEDuluth, MN PRACTICE SPECIFICS
An APP utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, working independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals.&nbsp;Advanced Practice Clinicians provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
<ul>
<li>Assist patients by utilizing a strong team-based approach to care, with a high integration of AP and MDs for the clinic, and inpatient and dialysis units for all 3 phases of nephrology care</li>
<li>Join a team of 3 APPs and 4 MDs</li>
<li>Desired skill set:&nbsp; Experience in complex chronic disease management</li>
<li>Typical Shift – M-F 8-5</li>
<li>70% Clinic work&nbsp;</li>
<li>30% Hospital, including dialysis rounding</li>
<li>Ideal candidate does not need to live in the Duluth area; candidate could live in Ashland or Hayward, WI, or Virginia, MN as there is travel involved with this position.</li>
<li>Call Ratio/Schedule details:&nbsp; Variable start and end times due to travel</li>
<li>Estimated Patients Per Day:&nbsp; 8-12 (office)&nbsp;</li>
<li>10-15 Patients (outreach and dialysis days per week)</li>
<li>Other responsibilities:&nbsp; Assist physicians with non-encounter work</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)EDUCATION:
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
<ul>
<li>Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Minnesota &amp; Wisconsin</li>
<li>Current certification in CPR</li>
<li>National certification, in applicable area</li>
</ul>
