About the opportunity:
We are looking for a highly diligent and ambitious individual to join our legal team as a Legal Researcher. Prior experience isn’t necessary; what matters most is having the right qualities—hustle, resourcefulness, drive, intellectual curiosity, and diligence. In this role, you will receive hands-on learning opportunities while working closely with our General Counsel, Jonah Van Zandt (ex-Skadden), and executive leadership team. Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>
Research legal requirements, and manage licensing and compliance required for various product offerings based on federal and state laws&nbsp;
</li>
<li>
Research local laws and regulations in China
</li>
<li>
Conduct thorough contract reviews, ensure we maintain compliance with various laws and regulations including state insurance, finance and data privacy laws
</li>
<li>
Draft and review agreements with partners and vendors
</li>
<li>
Assist in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Jerry’s legal and compliance policies and procedures to effectively manage legal and business risks
</li>
</ul>
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>
Strong academic background in law, whether through a Bachelor’s degree, JD, LLM, or PhD in a legal field
</li>
<li>
Fluency in both Mandarin and English (written and spoken)
</li>
<li>
Strong ability to quickly synthesize and apply new information
</li>
<li>
Impeccable attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills
</li>
<li>
A strong sense of ownership and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
</li>
<li>
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
</li>
