Overview

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Minimum Job Qualifications:

The Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse abide by the legal boundaries of nursing practice based on the knowledge and statues of the designated Nurse Practice Act within the state and perform only those acts, functions, or task that the nurse is licensed, qualified, trained, knowledgeable and/or skilled to perform. The employee follows and implements the rules and regulations set forth by the standards of practice. The nurse accepts responsibility for individual nursing actions and continued competence and will complete all competencies and proficiency training required by company policy. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

<li>Maintains appropriate clinical standards. Follows the policy and procedures as written in the Company Policy and Procedure Manual.</li>

<li>Accurately, efficiently, and completely documents all clinical patient care data.</li>
<li>Utilizes all equipment, supplies, facilities, and resources of the company in a prudent and efficient manner. </li>
<li>Assists provider and staff on duty at all times during a shift, including, but not limited to, the unpacking of supplies and maintaining the general aesthetics of the clinic. Cleans instruments and equipment per company guidelines, maintains stock in all exam rooms before, during, and after each shift. Assists in turning over exam rooms, procedure rooms and treatment rooms immediately after a patient is discharged from that room. Assists non-ambulatory patients to and from the building. </li>
<li>Participates in department quality improvement activities, staff educational programs, attends departmental meetings, and demonstrates and maintains clinical competency in the delivery of patient care services in accordance with company guidelines.</li>

LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE POSITION SUMMARY:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers quality care that is consistent within the scope of practice as outlined by the local state nurse practice act for Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses. The LPN is responsible for tasks, activities and functions as delegated and may make assignment of duties to others as defined in their state of practice act. The LPN provides monitoring of patients as directed by the HSA, DON, RN, or Medical Director or other practitioner.
LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
<ul>
<li>Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.</li>
<li>Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.</li>
<li>Possesses an active CPR certification.</li>
<li>Remains knowledgeable about specific state laws and regulations governing practice.</li>
<li>Satisfactory completion of initial and annual clinical competencies to demonstrate aptitude as assigned by role.</li>
</ul>
LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
<ul>
<li>Utilizes a systematic approach to meet the health needs of each individual patient.</li>
<li>Implements nursing care within the LPN’s scope of practice. (Includes compliance with all laws as applicable in the practice</li>
<li>setting).</li>
<li>Assists in the development and implementation of teaching plans based on the individual needs of the patient. The plans should speak to health promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health.</li>
<li>Cares for wounds with appropriate cleaning and dressing/bandaging.</li>
<li>Administers medications to offenders.</li>
<li>Provides for the care of multiple patients as directed by the Medical Director, DON, or Registered Nurse.</li>
<li>Monitors vital signs and reports changes to appropriate medical staff.</li>
<li>Documents actions in the MAR and medical records.</li>
<li>Other nursing duties as assigned by facility</li>

<li>Conduct resident assessments, identify care needs, and make recommendations for modifications to care plans as needed</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident care</li>
<li>Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless coordination of care</li>
