About the Role As a Mid-Level Medical Provider, you'll be an integral part of our patient care model, providing OB/GYN services across clinic sites and our mobile unit. You'll also collaborate with our Clinic Director, supervise medical volunteers, and support medical assistants.
This role requires adaptability, empathy, and a deep commitment to caring for underserved populations. 
Key Responsibilities

<li>Conduct pregnancy tests, female health screenings, and STI testing and treatment</li>
<li>Provide early prenatal care and lead Centering groups (if certified)</li>
<li>Educate patients on contraception, pregnancy loss, healthy pregnancy, and nutrition</li>
<li>Perform and/or learn limited obstetric ultrasound</li>
<li>Rotate across clinics and mobile units, with occasional weekend outreach events</li>

What Makes You a Great Fit

<li>Licensed as a Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or Nurse Midwife in California</li>
<li>Minimum two years of OB/GYN experience preferred</li>
<li>OB Ultrasound training is preferred but not required. Will train the right candidate.</li>

Position Summary
The Advance Practice Clinician is responsible for operating within established, evidence-based procedures and protocols to provide a full range of sexual and reproductive health care services to a diverse patient population, including adolescents and adults. 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Essential Duties
<ul>
<li>Provide respectful, affirming, inclusive, patient-centered care to a wide variety of patients seeking reproductive and sexual health services, including abortion care.</li>
<li>Communicate with patients to identify specific medical problems and to answer patient questions.</li>
<li>Perform annual physical exams for all people in our community.</li>
<li>Serve as birth control counselor and medication prescriber and dispenser.</li>
<li>Diagnose, treat, counsel, educate, and provide care for medical conditions including sexually transmitted infection.</li>
<li>Work with a centralized team of RNs, who assist in managing labs, diagnostics, and follow-up care.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the Case Management team to coordinate communication with patients on lab results, referrals, follow-up plans, and other aspects of their care.</li>
<li>Document all care visits in EHR in a timely manner with a patient-centric focus.</li>
<li>Participate in the training of technical skills, such as phlebotomy and ultrasound.</li>
<li>Collaborate with clinic staff, medical director, and administration to ensure efficient day-to-day operation.</li>
<li>Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contribute to the training of new staff and students, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical best practices.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with all organization quality assurance guidelines and pertinent government regulations including OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA.</li>

The Labor and Delivery, Antepartum, and the Mother Baby unit are located at the Pavilion for Women and Children in the Family Maternity Center. We provide evidence based, patient centered care for high-risk perinatal patients. Our staff is provided educational opportunities throughout the year that include emergency simulation drills. Staffing is based on patient acuity, utilizing Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN) staffing standards.
Labor and Delivery
Our labor and delivery unit is comprised of 28 private labor delivery recovery rooms, 3 operating suites, 2 recovery bays, and 7 OB triage bays. All 28 labor delivery recovery rooms are private with showers and/or bathtubs, birthing balls, squatting bars and most everything else to make the delivery experience for families as comfortable as possible. As a TeamBirth hospital, we utilize huddles as a method of communicating with families and the birthing team to help everyone understand the plan of care and make informed decisions.

The Labor and Delivery, Antepartum, and the Mother Baby unit are located at the Pavilion for Women and Children in the Family Maternity Center. We provide evidence based, patient centered care for high-risk perinatal patients. Our staff is provided educational opportunities throughout the year that include emergency simulation drills. Staffing is based on patient acuity, utilizing Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN) staffing standards.
Labor and Delivery
Our labor and delivery unit is comprised of 28 private labor delivery recovery rooms, 3 operating suites, 2 recovery bays, and 7 OB triage bays. All 28 labor delivery recovery rooms are private with showers and/or bathtubs, birthing balls, squatting bars and most everything else to make the delivery experience for families as comfortable as possible. As a TeamBirth hospital, we utilize huddles as a method of communicating with families and the birthing team to help everyone understand the plan of care and make informed decisions.
