Position Summary
The Women’s Services RN provides high quality, safe, cost effective, total nursing care to post partum patients and neonates by utilizing the nursing process. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on need of the patient and family members. The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, Infection control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided. The RN utilizes evidence-based practice in accordance with professional standards and adheres to the Florida State Nurse Practice Act. The RN reviews orders/test results and documents care delivered accurately and timely in electronic health record. The Women’s Services RN will provide care in a family centered environment where mothers and newborns remain together for the duration of their hospital stay. This position is also responsible for delivery room attendance, and stabilization of the well newborn. The RN will be able to apply FHR monitor and interpret FHR tracing. The RN will be able to care for both low risk and high risk antepartum/intrapartum and postpartum mothers. The RN will have the ability to recognize abnormal FHR patterns and implement appropriate intervention. The RN will have the ability to care for patients experiencing perinatal loss. The RN will have the ability to care for patients undergoing C/S, Tubal ligation and cerclage. The RN will have the ability to care for patients on tocolytic drugs and cervical ripening agents. Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant I provides paraprofessional medical assistance services to patients within the department and assists physician(s), physician assistant(s), nurse practitioner(s), certified nurse midwives, and nurses in patient care. Receives general supervision from a licensed physician, physician assistant (PA),nurse practitioner (NP), or certified nurse midwife (CNM)(within his/her scope of practice) who is physically present in the treatment facility during the performance of assigned duties or procedures. The supervising physician, PA/NP/CNM may provide written or oral instructions to be followed by a medical assistant in the performance of tasks or supportive services. Such instructions may provide that a physician's assistant, nurse practitioner or registered nurse may assign and supervise tasks authorized by the physician.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
<ol>
<li>Provides assistance in the taking of patient’s personal information, medical/surgical/social history and the reason for the visit (e.g. chief complaint, medication reconciliation, food allergies and any allergies or known reactions to medications, etc.)</li>
<li>Takes vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, oxygen saturation, heart rate), height/weight and current pain level (using 0-10 chart or Wong Baker).</li>
<li>Performs health screenings: EKG, EEG, nerve conduction study, vision tests and other tests ordered by Physician, NP/PA within the scope of the MA with appropriate competency (if required). </li>
<li>Accurately documents data collected into the departments Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Effectively utilizes EMR in support of the visit for orders provided by the Physician, PA, NP, or CNM including but not limited to routine department functions (e.g. ordering diagnostic testing, calling in prescription refills to pharmacy, specialty referrals, transmitting prescriptions, documenting telephone encounters, scanning results and key documents and scheduling appointments). Ensures related reports, results and any other pertinent information are available in patients’ chart prior to their scheduled appointment.</li>
<li>Keeps exam rooms adequately stocked with appropriate supplies and equipment in the applicable quantity. Performs inventory checks and places appropriate orders to replenish stock.</li>

<li>Prepares exam rooms and patients appropriately for examinations and minor office procedures and </li>
</ol>
assists as directed by the Physician, NP/PA/CNM, using and maintaining sterile technique when appropriate or required. Provides instruction to the patients per the Physician PA/NP/CNM orders. Performs clean-up post-exam/procedure using universal precautions, maintaining proper handling and disposal of sharps, bio-hazard waste and laboratory/pathology specimens as per PMHD policies.

<li>Administers medications (within MA scope of practice) per the physician, NP/PA/CNM orders using correct verification protocol as per PMHD policy.</li>
<li>Maintains logs and required checks as directed by the Department Director (e.g. inventory, pathology, expiration, refrigerator, etc.).</li>
<li>Maintains ethics and safeguards integrity of medical records, patient’s rights, Health Insurance Portability &amp; Accountability Act (HIPAA). Protects department/practice by adhering to professional and regulatory standards as well as PMHD policies &amp; procedures.</li>
<li>Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. Capable of building and maintaining positive working relationships with patients, co-workers, physicians, NP/PA, and other PMHD representatives.</li>
</ol>
OTHER RESPONSIBILITES
<ol>
<li>Principles and practices of work safety especially related to communicable diseases, including Universal Precautions, OSHA and CLIA.</li>
<li>English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation; basic mathematical calculations.</li>
<li>Prioritize activities relative to assigned duties and effectively communicates with their lead and/or director.</li>
<li>Effectively takes phone messages, uses scanner, printer, label maker</li>
<li>Type 20 words per minute</li>
<li>Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned from time to time.</li>
<li>Upon successful completion of Scribe program, offered through PHMD, individual may be required to function as a Scribe.</li>

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:

<li>High School diploma or GED equivalent</li>
<li>Training and education obtained by completion of a medical assistant program that results in an approved medical assistant certificate. </li>
<li>Knowledge of medical terminology</li>
<li>Basic understanding of common diagnostic tests (e.g. CBC, CMP, U.A).</li>
<li>Understanding of service authorizations (e.g. TARS, Medi-Care, Medi-cal Managed Care, PPO, HMO)</li>
<li>Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.</li>

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

RN Manager Labor and Delivery Full Time Days Position Summary
This role provides leadership and support to the senior executive position (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization. The role will assume responsibility for assisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating nursing practice on a unit level. Role assumes 24/7 responsibility of Manager’s assigned areas. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care. The Nurse Manager is responsible for efficient day-to-day operations of the department and optimum use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs. Communicates openly and effectively with Director to ensure patient care standards are followed and assists Director as needed Job Responsibilities • Coordinates and directs the daily patient care operations of the unit. • Maintains the performance of the operational aspects of a designated unit(s) while providing mentoring and leadership support to the unit(s) staff • Delegates appropriate tasks to appropriate personnel, consistent with legal and professional guidelines and departmental standards. • Demonstrates knowledge and educates staff concerning the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the unit, department, and hospital. • Identifies appropriate internal controls of department; provides mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance. • Demonstrates team player mentality with highly effective team building skills. • Fosters positive relationships and maintains clear communication with all customers including, but not limited to staff, physicians, patients, and visitors. • Provides leadership, support by serving as a resource to staff, and provides direct patient care when required. • Meets job-specific, department-specific competencies, as well as any others determined by nursing leadership. • Knowledgeable and ensures compliance of JCAHO and other regulatory requirements. • Adheres to and promotes Tenet Healthcare Corporation’s Corporate Integrity Program. • Support the hospital mission, vision, values, goals and standards. • Attends all employee forums and other hospital mandatory meetings. • Participates in committees, task forces and performance improvement teams as needed.  Education: RN with current applicable state licensure / permit. Professional Requirement: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Preferred: Bachelor's or master's degree in nursing. 
Experience: Required - Nursing experience plus 1 year of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a leader or full-time charge nurse/related position. 
Certifications: • BLS - Certification required upon hire for all nursing positions. • ACLS - Required within 3 months of hire for the following: Emergency Dept RNs., ICU RNs, Medical Response Team RNs, Stepdown RNs, Med/Surg/Tele RNs, All Float Pool RNs, Same Day Surgery RNs, Operating Room RNs, PACU RNs, GI Lab RNs, Interventional Radiology RNs, Special Procedures RNs, L&amp;D RNs, Cardiac Care RNs, Cardiac Rehab RNs, Cardiac Cath Lab RNs. • CPI - Required within 3 months of hire for the following: Emergency Dept. RNs, all Bartlett Float Pool RNs, Memphis Float Pool RNs that will float to Behavioral Health and/or Emergency Dept., and all Behavioral Health RNs. • PALS – Required within 3 months of hire for the following: Emergency Dept. RNs, All Bartlett Float Pool RNs, Memphis Float Pool RNs must have if they will float to Emergency Department. • NRP – Required within 3 months of hire for L&amp;D RNs, Mother/Baby RNs and NICU RNs
