In addition to meeting the job requirements of a faculty nurse-midwife, and under the direction of the Director, Division of Midwifery, the MEP Director not only provides exemplary clinical care in collaboration with an OB/GYN physician group and holds privileges with the University Hospitals of Cleveland, but also provides academic leadership for the nurse midwifery program. The Director holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology and an academic appointment.As program leader, the MEP Director is responsible for the direction, administration, and continuous improvement of the nurse midwifery academic program. Key responsibilities include curriculum development, faculty recruitment and mentorship, student admission and evaluation, budget oversight, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and institutional policies. The Labor and Delivery, Antepartum, and the Mother Baby unit are located at the Pavilion for Women and Children in the Family Maternity Center. We provide evidence based, patient centered care for high-risk perinatal patients. Our staff is provided educational opportunities throughout the year that include emergency simulation drills.
