Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Child &amp; Adolescent Psychiatrist to fill an opening in the KernBHRS department that provides specialty behavioral health services to Medi-Cal recipients and uninsured, located in Kern County, CA.

Schedule of the Child &amp; Adolescent Psychiatrist:

<li>Full-Time (FTE):</li>
<ul>
<li>Shift: 8-hour day, with afternoon slots prioritized for school collaboration.</li>
<li>Activities: 10–12 medication appointments, 3–5 court-ordered evaluations weekly.</li>
</ul>
<li>Part-Time (PTE):</li>
<ul>
<li>Shift: 4–6 hours, typically 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to align with school schedules.</li>

Job Description:
The Child &amp; Adolescent Psychiatrists deliver trauma-informed care to minors with developmental disorders, mood dysregulation, and school-related behavioral challenges. This role involves forensic evaluations for dependency cases and collaboration with Kern County schools and juvenile justice systems.

Job Responsibilities of the Child &amp; Adolescent Psychiatrist:
<ul>
<li>Conduct ADHD diagnostic evaluations using Vanderbilt scales and implement school-based 504/IEP accommodations.</li>
<li>Manage psychopharmacology for autism spectrum disorders (ASD), including FDA-approved medications for irritability (e.g., aripiprazole) while coordinating with ABA therapists.</li>
<li>Perform court-ordered evaluations for child welfare cases, including assessments of parental competency and trauma-related dissociative symptoms.</li>
<li>Supervise Child Psychiatry Fellows in crisis intervention techniques for suicidal ideation and self-harm behaviors.</li>
</ul>

<li>A current driver’s license and California automobile insurance coverage for driving your personal vehicle to and from various community locations either independently or with other team members and/or Individuals, and if a company vehicle is available for use, one must also be 21 years of age, and </li>
<li>Ability to read, write and speak English. Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.</li>

<li>Your work will directly improve the quality of life for the Individuals you support. You will learn techniques to help them have positive interactions with others and reach their goals. You will assist Individuals with their personal needs (e.g., hygiene matters like baths/showers, changing clothes/adult briefs, teeth brushing, medication reminders, etc.) and with social needs (e.g., prepare meals, clean, and engage with them through exercise/movement, games and/or transporting them in your, or company, vehicle to community activities, etc.).</li>
<li>You will also keep accurate progress notes and proactively communicate information with your team about the Individuals’ needs – taking care of them like you would with your own family.</li>
</ul>
There will be chats, C.A.R.E., &amp; cheers: 
<ul>
<li>You will participate in all required training, team, and company meetings to build your knowledge, skills, and abilities to grow in the family. We like to promote from within our own house!</li>
<li>You will take ownership of your own behaviors, and help coach others over time, in how to effectively demonstrate the company’s C.A.R.E. values (compassion, adaptability, respect, and empowerment).</li>
<li>You will receive ongoing coaching and performance feedback and be recognized for your personal and team contributions in addition to demonstrating the C.A.R.E. values.</li>

Responsibilities
Elwyn is currently seeking a Mental Health Professional to support our wonderful new Young Adult RTF (Residential Treatment) program, set to launch in March 2025.
 The Mental Health Professional will develop, implement, and document individual progress for individuals with behavioral health and forensic issues who are residents of Elwyn's Young Adult Residential Treatment Facility (YA-RTF). Provides supervision and programmatic decision-making. Completes mental status exams utilizing current knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, version IV (DSM-IV). Provides supportive counseling and acts as an advocate to represent the individual's needs and rights with all outside support service agencies, families, etc. Assists and supports individuals in all activities of daily living. Designs and facilitates therapeutic groups. Plans and implements community integration plans.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Develop and implement individual programs for individuals with behavioral health challenges and provide other individualized case management functions as directed by supervisor or director </li>
<li>Provide supervision and program implementation </li>
<li>Provide all appropriate documentation set forth by director and regulations including monthly summaries and individual behavioral/psychiatric assessments </li>
<li>Provide mental status exam using the current DSM </li>
<li>Provide supportive counseling to individuals with personal, behavioral, or social challenges </li>
<li>Develop and ensure individual's adherence to behavior management plans </li>
<li>Advocate for individuals with outside support agencies </li>
<li>Interface with families and other interested parties within the limits of signed consents </li>
<li>Design and facilitate therapeutic groups according to individual need </li>
<li>Plan and implement community integration plans for individuals </li>
<li>Maintain communication with medical physician, psychiatrist, and pharmacist as needed </li>
<li>Maintain communication with appropriate ancillary service providers </li>
<li>Assist and train consumers in all aspects of self- care to ensure a maximum level of independence for that individual. These areas will include all aspects of personal hygiene, shopping, cooking, meal serving, budgeting, laundry, and housekeeping </li>
<li>Ensure a safe and a clean-living environment for individuals </li>
<li>Intervene in crisis situations in accordance with established agency protocol </li>
<li>Encourage individuals in the constructive use of leisure time </li>
<li>Escort individuals to and from appointments </li>
<li>Attend scheduled staff meetings </li>
<li>Facilitate resident meetings</li>
<li>Attend appropriate in-service as directed by supervisor and required by funder and regulatory bodies </li>
<li>Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team </li>
<li>Conduct fire drills and building inspections and provide the appropriate documentation for same </li>
<li>Report all problems or concerns to supervisor or director </li>
<li>Remain on duty until relieved </li>
<li>Maintain current certification/recertification of CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention. Responsible for adherence to standards, procedures and schedules established by the program administration </li>
<li>Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols. </li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned </li>
</ul>
 QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in a human service or related field, including but not limited to medicine, social work, psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, or vocational rehabilitation with one (1) year experience in adult behavioral health services OR Bachelor's degree other than in human services or a related field and two (2) years' experience in adult behavioral health services </li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team </li>
<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage and prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities </li>
<li>Demonstrated strong attention to detail </li>
<li>Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills </li>
<li>Must be able to perform CPR and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols </li>
<li>Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated basic experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook </li>
<li>Experience using Electronic Health Record (EHR) / Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred </li>
<li>Must have current, valid driver's license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving record </li>

<li>You will also take care to document and complete all reporting in an accurate and timely manner and engage in proactive and open communications with all key stakeholders, including recommendations for modifications, alternative training methods or need for adaptive equipment, etc. to ensure the personal care and safety of your assigned Individual(s).</li>
