Position Overview
As a Maintenance Technician you will assist with performing a variety of general maintenance duties which includes but not limited to electrical, mechanical, carpentry, and construction in the maintenance and repair of PRD facilities and equipment. Primary Responsibilities

·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Changes spark plugs, oil and oil filters on small tractors and lawn mowers; performs a variety of routine custodial duties and tasks, including changing light bulbs; performs general landscape, lawn maintenance and snow removal.
·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Works in a weekly on-call rotation with other Maintenance Technicians at the assigned work location and overtime and on-call as necessary during inclement weather situations.

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, and moderate years of experience in Electrical, Plumbing or Carpentry, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Vocational training in general maintenance, construction or mechanics.
One to two years of progressively responsible apartment maintenance experience. 

Special Qualifications
Must successfully pass the Uniform Physical Condition Standards (UPCS) certification test, in no more than two attempts, within twelve (12) months of employment. Must complete the Fair Housing Training certification within twelve (12) months of employment and yearly thereafter. Must complete the Maintenance Technician Training offered through Arnold Burton within the first year of employment or provide relevant certifications and vocational courses to perform these skill. Valid state identification or driver’s license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
