<li>Provides in-service education for medical and correctional staff as requested. The Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric documents all services provided in the patient’s medical file.</li>
<li>Participates in review of the quality of care provided.</li>
<li>Performs routine medical examinations on inmates or detainees under established guidelines.</li>
<li>Diagnoses and treats acute and chronic conditions.</li>
<li>Provides medical treatment and services consistent with the provision of basic health care services in conjunction with a physician.</li>
<li>Formulates comprehensive plans and prognosis based on the patient’s health conditions.</li>
<li>Prescribes medication dosages, routes, and frequencies based on patients' characteristics such as age and gender.</li>
<li>Diagnoses or treats chronic health care problems such as high blood pressure and diabetes</li>
<li>Supervises the nurses, coordinates patient care, and supports staff activities.</li>
<li>Maintains complete and detailed records of patients' health care plans and prognoses.</li>
<li>Will be on-call when needed.</li>
<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
<ul>
<li>Master’s Degree from an accredited Nursing Program.</li>
<li>An unrestricted license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)-PMH in the state in which the facility is located.</li>
<li>ANCC or ANA certification as an APRN-PMH.</li>
<li>Two (2) years of clinical experience as a psychiatric provider and clinical services.</li>
<li>Copy of professional license to remain on file at the Facility where services are rendered at all times.</li>
<li>Must have a valid DEA number and unrestricted DEA license.</li>
<li>Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.</li>
<li>Ability to utilize an electronic health record and to complete documentation in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Ability to pass any required background check.</li>
<li>Complete credentialing process prior to the treatment of any patients.</li>
