Essential Functions:
Customer Service

Operational Excellence

<li>Maintain cash drawer limits and responsible for meeting the balancing standards of the cash drawer on a daily basis, working in accordance with the Teller Over/Short Policies. Ensure that all cash outages are reported to management.</li>
<li>Accept and verify customer deposits.</li>
<li>Cash checks and process less cash transactions within authorized limits; obtain supervisor’s approval to process transactions which exceed authorized limits.</li>
<li>Perform special services as requested by customers, such as selling official checks, process cash advances and loan payments, completion of stop payments and cardholder claim statements and redeem savings bonds with accuracy.</li>
<li>Continue professional development through training, seminars, membership in professional associations, as applicable.</li>
<li>Responsible for complying with audit policies and procedures as they pertain to this position.</li>

SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Retail Services Team. The Retail Services Representative (Teller) role provides cash receipt and payment services in accordance with credit union policy and procedure. Provide services in a timely, accurate and courteous manner. Cross‐sell credit union products/services to meet member needs. Respond to member requests, problems and complaints, and/or direct them to appropriate person for resolution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
<ul>
<li>Maintain cash drawer and adequate cash supplies, according to policy guidelines. Settle cash drawer daily. </li>
<li>Answer member telephone inquiries, as needed.</li>
<li>Verify validity of checks and cash received.</li>
<li>Adhere to NBCU’s Negotiable Instruments Verification Handling Procedures and NBCU’s Teller Cash Standards.</li>
<li>Place appropriate holds on all checks in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and federal regulations. </li>
<li>Process money orders. Process cash advances. Process mail payments. </li>
<li>Promote good member relations by providing premium member service. </li>
<li>Assess members’ individual needs and use NBCU product knowledge to address those needs by way of cross-selling credit union services.</li>
<li>Adhere to all security procedures as well as other departmental policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Compliance with Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act including accurate completion of CTR, Monetary Instrument log, and reporting of suspicious activities to supervisor.</li>

Mercantile Bank, a United Community Bank, is in search of a full-time teller for our 5th &amp; Maine St. location. Candidates will assist customers with various banking needs, offer product information and provide exceptional customer service while presenting a positive image of the Bank. This position meets the needs of customers by providing quality service in the receiving and paying out of money, and accurate record keeping of money and negotiable instruments involved in the bank's various transactions. Must be available Monday thru Friday during banking hours of operation and Saturday morning rotation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Kindly greet all customers immediately upon entry to maintain a welcoming and helpful environment</li>
