Used Car Salesperson - Pacific Honda
Non-Exempt Job Summary: The Used Car Salesperson is responsible for selling pre-owned vehicles by engaging with potential customers, understanding their needs, and guiding them through the purchase process. This role involves demonstrating vehicles, negotiating terms, and ensuring a positive buying experience while meeting sales targets and contributing to the dealership's overall success.
Essential Functions:
<ul>
<li>Greet and assist customers who visit the dealership or inquire about used vehicles via phone, email, or online platforms.</li>
<li>Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand customer preferences, budget, and vehicle requirements.</li>
<li>Provide detailed information about available used cars, including features, benefits, and pricing.</li>
<li>Present and demonstrate used vehicles to potential buyers, highlighting key features, benefits, and value.</li>
<li>Offer test drives to all prospects. Follow dealership procedures to obtain proper identification from customers prior to test drive.</li>
<li>Manage the entire sales process from initial contact to closing the sale, including preparing and presenting offers, trade-in evaluations, and financing options.</li>
<li>Negotiate purchase terms and pricing with customers to finalize transactions while adhering to dealership policies.</li>
<li>Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the dealership’s used car inventory, including vehicle specifications, history, and market value.</li>
<li>Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings to effectively position and sell used vehicles.</li>
<li>Provide accurate and honest information about vehicle condition, history, and pricing to build trust with customers.</li>
<li>Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the sales process, ensuring a positive and memorable buying experience.</li>
<li>Address and resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.</li>
<li>Follow up with customers post-sale to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term relationships.</li>
<li>Process sales paperwork, including contracts, vehicle registrations, and financing applications.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales transactions, and vehicle details in the dealership’s CRM system.</li>
<li>Coordinate with the finance department to ensure smooth processing of transactions and financing approvals.</li>
<li>Achieve or exceed individual sales targets and contribute to the dealership’s overall sales goals.</li>
<li>Track and report on sales performance, including lead management, conversion rates, and customer feedback.</li>
<li>Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and dealership events to enhance skills and performance.</li>
<li>Work with the inventory team to ensure that used cars are well-presented, clean, and ready for sale.</li>
<li>Assist in managing vehicle inventory levels and updating vehicle listings as needed.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the service department to address any reconditioning or maintenance needs.</li>
<li>Assist in promoting dealership inventory through various marketing channels, including social media, online platforms, and dealership events.</li>
<li>Help prepare and distribute promotional materials and advertisements to attract potential buyers.</li>
<li>Maintain satisfactory attendance</li>
<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Minimum 1 year of customer service, sales, or retail experience.</li>
<li>Valid state sales license.</li>
<li>Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; required to have California driver's license within 10 days following date of hire.</li>
<li>Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.</li>
<li>Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Previous experience in automotive sales or a customer-facing role</li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and persuade customers.</li>
<li>Excellent understanding of automotive products, used car sales processes, and financing options.</li>
<li>Proficient in using CRM systems, dealership software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and handle a fast-paced sales environment.</li>
<li>Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and goals.</li>
</ul>

<li>Frequently stands, walks, sits; uses hands; frequently reaches with hands and arms; frequently talks and hears.</li>
<li>Occasionally climbs or balances; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, squats or crawls; occasionally lifts up to 15 pounds.</li>

<li>Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout retail space.</li>
