DMS - Specialty Concentration Coordinator - Adult Echo and Vascular Description:
 
South College is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Concentration Coordinator for Adult Echo and Vascular Sonography to lead and manage the program concentration. This position will support the Academic Department in developing and delivering high-quality educational programs, fostering student success, and ensuring alignment with the latest industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, teaching experience, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and industry professionals.
 
The Concentration Coordinator reports to the Program Director of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and in conjunction with the Clinical Coordinator, is responsible for integrating all clinical education with didactic education. 
 
Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Coordinate and oversee the curriculum and educational content for the Adult Echo and Vascular Sonography concentration within the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.</li>
<li>Maintain academic and clinical standards in accordance with accrediting bodies (CAAHEP, JRC-DMS).</li>
<li>Develop and update course materials, assessments, and other educational resources for the concentration.</li>
<li>Collaborate with faculty to plan, evaluate, and enhance course offerings, ensuring integration of current trends and technologies in echo and vascular sonography.</li>
<li>Mentor, counsel and advise students, providing academic and career guidance in the field of adult echocardiography and vascular sonography.</li>
<li>Coordinate, evaluate and supervise clinical rotations, ensuring students gain the necessary hands-on experience in adult echo and vascular procedures.</li>
<li>Foster relationships with local healthcare organizations and industry professionals to support internship opportunities, clinical placements, and job placement for graduates.</li>
<li>Maintain professional development through continuing education, conferences, and active engagement in the sonography field.</li>
<li>Assist with program assessments, accreditation processes, and other administrative duties as assigned by the Program Director.</li>
<li>Maintain all student clinical records in conjunction with Clinical Coordinator including calculation of quarterly grades.</li>
<li>Review and revise performance objectives to assure valid clinical learning experiences.</li>
<li>Maintain student data and analyze retention rates, credential pass rate, employer/student surveys.</li>
<li>Maintain acceptable certification.</li>

A DMS faculty member will deliver effective instruction that aligns with the approved syllabi, guidelines, and program standards, while collaborating with fellow department team members. Additionally, a DMS faculty member is expected to model professionalism in dress, action, and communication. EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES:

<li> Sonographer with specialization/interest in Ultrasound Physics </li>
<li>Must have a minimum of four years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught and possess a related degree at least at the same level as the course the faculty member is teaching </li>
