In collaboration with staff radiologists, this job independently performs advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols. Serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.

Education
Required -&nbsp;Completion of a CAHEA approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography.
 Work Experience

Preferred - 2 years of sonographer experience.
 Certifications
Required -&nbsp;Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or registry eligible (required within 1 year of hire).
Advanced certification in area(s) of specialty according to facility need.
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

<li>Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.</li>
<li>
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process

Knowledge of the anatomy of the liver, gallbladder, aorta, spleen, kidneys, bile ducts, and pancreas and ability to perform abdominal ultrasound and the pathology of these organs to provide radiologists with a preliminary diagnosis.

Reviews patient images prior to transmission to ensure images meet diagnostic quality standards.

<li>
Completes timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and performing notification/remediation as warranted.

<li>
Assists in the facilitation of departmental operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations including abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, neonatal, pelvic, breast, and testicular (small parts).</li>
<li>Produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician review and interpretation.</li>
<li>Ensure patient safety and comfort before, during, and after procedures.</li>
<li>Collaborate with radiologists and other medical staff to ensure diagnostic accuracy.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records and follow all imaging protocols and procedures.</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program or School of Radiologic Technology.</li>
<li>Certified by ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).</li>
<li>Proficient in various modalities including OB, vascular, and small parts imaging.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach.</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications:

<li>Minimum 1 year of hands-on ultrasound experience (3+ years preferred).</li>
<li>Experience working in a fast-paced clinical or hospital setting.</li>
