The Ultrasonographer will support the needs of our patients and facility by way of performing the necessary ultrasounds. We are hiring for a part-time position that will require working 8 a.m. - noon, Monday - Friday. 
Essential Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Obtain measurements and calculations of female anatomy while performing a detailed ultrasound examination. </li>
<li>Utilize techniques that result in optimized images. </li>
<li>Obtain appropriate images that clearly demonstrate ultrasound findings in accordance with specified protocols and accreditation standards. </li>
<li>Communicate effectively with medical staff regarding pertinent ultrasound findings in a concise, complete and accurate manner. </li>
<li>Perform departmental tasks that are necessary to maintaining quality throughout all aspects of job duties performed. </li>
<li>Document results utilizing our electronic medical records system. </li>
<li>Other tasks as assigned. </li>
</ul>
Education and/or Experience: 
<ul>
<li>Graduate of an accredited program resulting in the certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or DMS is required. </li>
<li>Previous transvaginal ultrasound experience is required. </li>
<li>Must be able to function independently. </li>
<li>Must possess the ability to work collaboratively with the clinical team.</li>
<li>Must possess the interpersonal skills needed to communicate effectively with patients, staff and medical personnel. </li>
<li>OB-GYN experience is highly preferred. </li>

Job Summary: 
Under the direction of the Imaging Services and/or Specialty clinic (in which ultrasound is provided) Director, Manager and Chief of Radiology/ Imaging Services, or other Clinical Service Director where applicable, produces two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by Physician in diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of organs. Performs technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes. A Dedicated Specialty Sonographer is defined as a Sonographer I or II, registered in one or two disciplines performed by the lab, whose permanent work assignment is in an area where the scope of practice and work is limited to ultrasound exams and procedures in one or two registry disciplines as defined by the AR DMS or CCI.
 Essential Responsibilities:

<li>Exhibiting a high degree of tact, courtesy, and poise, explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.</li>
 
<li>Prepares and positions patient for examination.</li>
 
<li>Selects equipment for use in ultrasound setup according to specifications of examination.</li>

This job performs various diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the direction of a radiologist in the outpatient and inpatient environment. Compiles history and diagnostic information from the Ultrasound examination and presents the Radiologist with preliminary sonographic findings.

Required -&nbsp;High School diploma or equivalent
 Work Experience

 Certifications
Required -&nbsp;Certification by The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in the areas of Abdominal and OB-Gyn ultrasound or Cardiac Sonography
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) Certification within two years of hire

Job Duties •&nbsp; Utilizes consistent techniques to accurately gather relevant information from the patient, medical record, significant others and health care providers. •&nbsp; Selects appropriate equipment and set-up based on procedure protocol, specifications and standards. •&nbsp; Selects, prepares and sets up ultrasound equipment and supplies including transducers. •&nbsp; Performs timely and appropriate inspections to ensure equipment is properly calibrated in accordance with manufacturer and/or department protocol and guidelines. •&nbsp; Corrects persistent coding issues with referring providers and departments. •&nbsp; Demonstrates responsibility for professional development and learning map. •&nbsp; Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.

In collaboration with staff radiologists, this job independently performs advanced diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols. Serves as a clinical mentor for junior staff and students.
