Advanced Practitioner Role Scope 
Provides holistic, quality and cost-effective care for women, and participates in the medical management of patients, to achieve or maintain optimal health status, manage disease and reduce risk of illness. Engages in independent decision-making regarding the health care of women across the lifespan and across the health care continuum. Practices within a health care system that allows medical consultation, collaborative management and referral health care of women, i.e. well woman, gynecology, obstetrics (antepartum, labor, delivery and postpartum), and family planning. Reports to Medical Director or Nurse Manager, or a matrix which may include Nurse Manager, Nursing Director, Medical Director, or some combination of those. Will also provide coverage on Labor and Delivery Triage 1 day per week.

<h3>Job Description</h3>
Susquehanna OB/GYN and Nurse Midwifery is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife with solid GYN experience and antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum experience that includes patients with varying medical conditions (diabetes, hypertension, etc.). Both&nbsp;full-time and part-time&nbsp;positions are available, and&nbsp;office-only and L&amp;D-only&nbsp;options will be considered. A strong candidate will have at least&nbsp;one year of experience&nbsp;as a practicing midwife.
The practice is the preferred provider of maternity care in the region, practicing out of offices in Havre de Grace and Bel Air and delivering exclusively at the&nbsp;Upper Chesapeake Medical Center&nbsp;(UCMC) in Bel Air. UCMC maintains a level II nursery with in-house anesthesia, pediatric and obstetrical back-up.
Job Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Provide full scope nurse-midwifery services including antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum care, as well as well woman care and family planning according to established protocols and per agreement with the collaborating physician.</li>
<li>Maintain a productivity level necessary to reach the mandated annual level of client encounters.</li>
<li>Participate/lead appropriate interdisciplinary teams. Contribute toward development of annual action plan health care plan as appropriate.</li>
<li>Perform history and physical exams on new and returning clients.</li>
<li>Manage acute and chronic illness according to established protocols in collaboration with physicians.</li>
<li>Refer patients to follow-up health care providers or community agencies as necessary.</li>
<li>Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as ultrasounds and blood tests.</li>
<li>Provide emotional support and guidance during labor and pregnancy.</li>
<li>Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs as well as identifying high-risk pregnancies.</li>
<li>Monitor and administer medication, injections, and intravenous infusions during labor.</li>
<li>Provide postpartum care to both mothers and newborns.</li>
<li>Help parents to cope with miscarriage, termination, stillbirth and neonatal death.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.</li>
<li>Maintain active hospital delivery privileges as requested.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Active license as a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Midwife</li>
<li>Certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board</li>
<li>Active DEA and NPI Number</li>
<li>Authorized to work and practice in the United States</li>
<li>Ability to work flexible hours, between office and hospital</li>
<li>Previous experience in OB/GYN practices and as a Certified Nurse Midwife preferred</li>
<li>CPR Certification and NRP certification are preferred</li>

<h3>Job Description</h3>
Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a 500+ provider multispecialty group practice that is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) who is committed to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care and willing to support an established obstetrics &amp; gynecologic practice as part of a growing womens health program within a multi-specialty medical group framework.
Primary responsibilities include general midwifery management of the womens health services patients in collaboration with the clinics Obstetrics &amp; Gynecology (OB-GYN) physicians. This involves direct management of the patient including, but not limited to prenatal, postnatal, and general birthing activities, as well as OB/Gyn exams, procedures and services. These will include routine obstetrical checks, annual and routine pelvic and abdominal exams, Pap tests, cervical cancer screenings, well-woman visits, same day sick, et al.
This Midwifery group also provides care for our International Maternity Care (Refugee group) which involves trauma informed care.
The schedule for this full-time opportunity is a traditional clinic work week, with no less than 24 hours of scheduled patient contact time in the outpatient clinic, plus one 24-hour shift in the Family Maternity Center per week.
All Women's Health providers share phone triage after-hours via an answering service. Shared call pool among 7 CNMs. Saint Alphonsus has 12 LDR maternity beds, post-partum suites and a Level II/III nursery and a neonatal intensive care unit is available for critically ill infants.
Requirements:

<li>Current, unrestricted Certified Nurse Midwife medical license in Idaho; valid controlled substance registration with Idaho; Board of Pharmacy and DEA.</li>
<li>Experience in high-risk obstetrics/trauma informed care preferred.</li>
<li>A strong medical background and a desire to develop a practice to support a growing multi-specialty medical group.&nbsp;In providing this support, you will obtain Idaho medical licensure to maintain and strengthen the Health System's general internal program across all communities we serve.&nbsp;</li>
