TSEC (The Steel Erection Company) is seeking a Field Foreman Welder who can build with their hands and lead with their mind. You'll weld, supervise, coordinate crews, and manage field operations like a captain on the ground.

<li>Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential from TSA.</li>
<li>Physical effort with lifting and carrying materials or equipment (up to 50 lbs.).</li>
<li>Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed based on site operational needs; flexibility required.</li>

Key Responsibilities

<li>Supervise and Lead Daily Field Operations</li>

- Execute and inspect field welds (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW) per AWS D1.1 &amp; LA City standards - Guide the welding crew in setting, fitting, and finishing structural connections - Assist with welding yourself when needed - lead by example - Ensure weld quality, cleanliness, and safety before inspection

<li>Manage Jobsite Challenges and Logistics</li>

- Solve problems in real time: fit-up issues, missing materials, lift delays, field conditions - Coordinate with GC superintendents, inspectors, and vendors - Track timecards, complete safety records such as JHA's, Hot work permits, ect. - Maintain composure and direction when the unexpected shows up

 Requirements

<li>- 3+ years structural welding experience - 1+ years leading a crew or acting as lead welder - Ability to read blueprints and solve layout independently - LA City Structural Welder Certifications - Manual &amp; Semi-Auto - AWS D1.1 Certified or ready to obtain - Strong communication, field judgment, and jobsite awareness</li>

The Role
<ul>
<li>Daily field visits to ensure projects are following safety, quality control and productivity standards</li>
<li>Drive projects through systems for final development and budgeting</li>
<li>Assists with defining labor and material needs, permitting requirements/needs, infrastructure nodes and plant connection points, locate services and city/county/state requirements and restrictions</li>
<li>Define projects from job definitions, network integration needs and connection points</li>
<li>Manage overall path planning review, including site pictures, node integration and area resources including buildings, ground, and aerial assets</li>
<li>Support Quality Control functions; onsite quality control checks, job hazard analysis, safety audits etc.</li>
<li>Participate in the development of “Project Packets”</li>
<li>Project development for new proposed projects</li>
<li>Manage multiple stages of projects, keeping systems and records updated</li>
<li>Network and asset knowledge and planning to include aerial and underground assets and network inventory knowledge</li>
<li>Provide excellent customer experience every day</li>

Requirements:
<ul>
<li>3-5 years of experience working with fiber optic cabling - running, blowing and splicing required</li>
<li>Prior experience with aerial and underground telecommunications construction and network operations regarding fiber and coax architecture required</li>
<li>Prior experience managing subcontractor partners is a plus</li>
<li>Experience in analytics, economics, budgeting and/or project management preferred</li>
<li>Open to a variety of schedules; evenings and/or weekends as needed</li>
<li>Ability to travel daily; up to 50% travel requiring overnight stays as needed</li>
<li>Ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for project build process</li>
