In consultation with physicians for high- risk patients, the CNM is responsible for planning, evaluating and delivering the health care of patients on assigned service, emphasizing preventive health measures and education of patient; and other duties as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Takes histories, performs physical examinations, prescribes treatment and medication for conditions falling in the scope of his/her specialty. Provides on call and hospital coverage for Health Center patients where contractually obligated to do so. Performs deliveries as outlined in midwifery protocols and practice privileges. Designs and participates in quality assurance activities, including Medical Record Peer Review, performance and procedure audits, outcome audits and focused reviews. Provides supervision for clinical activities of nursing personnel in his/her department, including but not limited to review of protocols, telephone triage and follow-up procedures. Coordinates test, referrals and care of patients outside the Health Center. Sets standards for preventive care and diagnostic screening within his/her specialty; participates in the development of programs to carry out these standards. Follows OSHA standards of infection control under CDC guidelines endorsed by department, organization and overseen by Infection Control Officer. Provides accurate and legible documentation of care. Meets annual CME requirements. Follows established protocols with a willingness to follow evidenced-based research. Provides safe and successful performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards. The primary function of the Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant is to provide direct and indirect support to the clinician in the delivery of patient care. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

<li>Escorts patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs</li>
<li>Collects and records patient data, and basic information about presenting, and previous conditions. Prepare the exam room and workstation for clinician; cleans and stocks rooms in between patients.</li>
<li>Assures efficient patient flow by ongoing assessment of clinician schedule and working with other staff to minimize patient waiting time.</li>
<li>Prepares the patient and assists the clinician with exams and procedures when needed, including position, draping, shaving, and disinfecting.</li>
<li>Administers injections, including immunizations, after verification by RN or clinician.</li>
<li>Administers medications orally, sublingually, topically, vaginally or rectally, after verification by RN or clinician.</li>
<li>Administers scheduled medications after verification by RN or clinician.</li>
<li>Performs diagnostic and laboratory tests including but not limited to audiometry, EKG, spirometry, in-house CLIA-waived tests according to SCHC competency standards and protocols.</li>
<li>Collects, by non-invasive techniques, and preserve specimens for testing, including urine, sputum, semen and stool.</li>
<li>Performs age-appropriate screening as needed or as directed by clinician, including visual acuity</li>
<li>Removes sutures and/or staples from superficial incisions or lacerations.</li>
<li>Applies and removes bandages and dressings to superficial incisions or lacerations.</li>
<li>Applies orthopedic appliances such as knee immobilizers, envelope slings, orthotics, and similar devices.</li>
<li>Obtains impressions for orthotics, padding and custom-molded shoes.</li>
<li>Selects and adjusts crutches; and instruct patient in proper use of crutches.</li>
<li>Performs ear lavage to remove impacted cerumen.</li>
<li>Assists patients in ambulation and transfers.</li>
<li>Cuts the nails of otherwise healthy patients.</li>
<li>Provides patient information and instructions.</li>
<li>Assures all documents for scanning contain patient identification.</li>
<li>Performs end of shift tasks for room closure, cleans equipment, and logs off EHR. Follows SCHC standards for Universal Precautions.</li>
<li>Works cooperatively with any RN Coordinator or other staff to assure that the clinician sees patients as quickly as possible.</li>
<li>Schedule patients appropriately.</li>
<li>Alerts Center Manager or designated person to needed supplies/equipment.</li>
<li>Reports any safety hazards.</li>

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

General Purpose:
Interim HealthCare of Sioux Falls is excited to add caring, compassionate and dedicated&nbsp;Registered Nurses&nbsp;(RN's)&nbsp;to our team to help staff in the OB department in&nbsp;Brookings, South Dakota.&nbsp;This opening is for either&nbsp;full-time and PRN&nbsp;positions. Seeking RN’s who would be interested in working&nbsp;NIGHTS&nbsp;and&nbsp;Offering 12 hour shifts (7p-7a), with weekend rotation.&nbsp;Paid Training&nbsp;will be provided.
Looking for Full-Time contract and/or PRN RN staff!
NIGHT SHIFTS -&nbsp;Offering 12 hr shifts (7p-7a)
Pay Rate - Starting at $55 per hour
Registered Nurse (RN) key responsibilities&nbsp;may include:

<li>Labor and Delivery</li>
<li>Postpartum Care</li>
<li>Patient Education</li>
<li>Fetal Monitoring</li>
