The Radiologic Technologist provides the prescribed radiographic and fluoroscopic exams with the selection of proper technical factors required for each exam.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards document. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within 
* Positions patients correctly for radiographic and fluoroscopic exams and select the proper technical factors required for each exam 
* Assists radiologist during fluoroscopic exams and special procedures as required 
* Provides accurate and complete exam and image documentation as it relates to CR and PACS 
* Provides radiation protection to patients and Clinic personnel in accordance with prescribed standards 
* Checks and report any equipment failure or maintenance problem to Imaging Department Manager 
* Prepares contrast media used in various examinations, assist radiologists in administering medias 
* Performs duties related to Film/PACS media library as needed 
* Assists IOS staff with scheduling and processing of patients as needed and appropriate

Required Qualifications:
* Graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology 
* Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist 
* Valid appropriate license issued by the State of Oregon Board of Medical Imaging 
* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to complete BLS certification within 90 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
* 1+ years of demonstrated success in a Radiology Department with comparable complexity to that of The Corvallis Clinic 
* Thorough knowledge of human anatomy, radiation exposures, and positioning 
* Proven ability to work compatibly with physicians, patients, and other staff

Responsibilities: 
Schedules, performs and formats all types of C.T. scans.
Verifies patient name and procedure to be performed before scanning.
Verifies exam order by reviewing patient chart or verbal order with outpatient.
Educates patient prior to scanning procedure explaining the procedure and answering patient questions.
Provides written documentation of procedures performed and patient history pertaining to scan performed. Also does patient follow up by phone when required (e.g. biopsy patients, abscess drainage, etc.).
Assists physician during special procedures; set up and maintain sterile trays and equipment. Anticipates any equipment and/or supply needs during procedures.
Maintains established department policies, procedures, objectives and quality assurance, safety.
Assists in maintaining upkeep of department and equipment - including ordering and stocking supplies when necessary.
Attends section staff meetings, pertinent inservices, workshops and/or seminars for continuing education to enhance professional growth and development. Become eligible for taking C.T. Registry within 2 years from date of hire. Recommend becoming C.T. Registered within 5 years from date of hire.
